Very comfortable in the hands
Absolutely the best hooks I have used. They are a good length for my hand. The handle is comfortable and my fingers don't get fatigued (I have arthritis). The shape of the hook makes it easy to get in and out of the stitches and bring the yarn thru the stitches. I especially like that the size of the handle makes these a dream to use.

Best Hook Set For The Money
There’s no need to repeat other reviews. These are great hooks.I just want to point out, mainly to beginners looking for a set of crochet hooks, that this particular set (with gold color coating) is the only set you really need. It comes with a nicely made, travel friendly case. And then you can purchase any additional sizes or other brands as needed or desired (1 at a time).I have collected a lot of different types (plastic, wood, metal), shapes, and brands of hooks over the years, including other colors/variations of the Tulip hooks. I’ve found that these particular gold color coated hooks are the most versatile when it comes to yarn choices, i.e. cottons, polyesters, blends, etc.For example, I was surprised when my silver color coated hooks from Clover and Tulip didn’t work as well (noticeable drag) with certain cotton yarns. The gold color coated hooks worked smoothly no matter the yarn. The same goes for the gold color coated hooks by Clover (Soft Touch, but they are not ergonomic and don’t come in a set or with a case). My best advice for a beginner who knows that they’ll keep crocheting and are looking for a set of hooks — skip trying to find the perfect hook or set which can be a waste of money that could be used to buy yarn, wait for a sale, and buy this set of hooks. They are worth the investment.FYI, there’s another Japanese version of this set (for less) with different sizes that I think might work better for amigarumi, so be sure to check it out and compare the sets before purchasing.Of course, like yarn, it’s fun to buy a new hook and try it out. But I think you’ll find that you’ll return to this set of hooks again and again. And again.

Knife or Pencil hold - works great with both
LOVE this over my Furls & Clover - let me tell you why - I have carpal tunnel. I've been crocheting off and on for over 40 years (I started really young, ok) - I had to completely stop crocheting for over 10 years due to my carpal tunnel. I can no longer use the regular steel hooks (Susan Bates or Boyer) I was taught Pencil hold and that was my primary grip. During pandemic shutdown - I decided to pick it back up again and haven't stopped since. I taught myself how to Knife hold, found that I could crochet a little longer using this hold. Found Furls hooks and absolutely loved those but found some difficulty in using it pencil grip. . Spent A LOT of $$. Still found the length of the hooks a little long though. Started using some Clover - the were great but found it easier to use using Knife Hold. Decided to try these out based on reviews and videos. Also did research on the Japanese company that makes this and was impressed by their reputation. Bought some Red ones and fell in Love with these Tulip Etimo. I knew I had to buy more but didn't exactly want to pay over $100 right now for the Red set (even though I spent more with Furls). There is a slight lip where you would normally place your thumb, this allows me to hold the hook higher up on the shaft and have closer control. It also helps speed up my movements. This is also way comfortable than the Clover when using the Pencil hold because again, the placement of the lip. It gives it a more natural feel of holding a traditional pen/pencil in your hand. Also - allowing your rhythm to flow more naturally. NO shooting pain up my arm or elbows.Have been using it non-stop for a week, hours on end. I have used this on Wool, Alpaca, Cotton, Acrylic, Silk, Bamboo, viscose & recycled yarns - no issues with pull, hesitation or gliding on the shaft. This is officially my new favorite crochet hook Company. Will have NO hesitation purchasing this brand and spending more $$ in the future.
