My partner has long hair and occasionally suffers with a dry, itchy scalp, especially when he’s been wearing a motorcycling helmet or a cycling helmet for hours at a time. He has tried many shampoos over the years but keeps coming back to this one as it is the best one for him. It clears up his scalp within a couple of washes and leaves his hair in such good condition. It is easy to use and washes out well. It does have a smell to it, although it’s not unpleasant, and it just smells clean. It is quite expensive compared to other brands, but I do think it’s worth it. Happy to recommend.

Overall this shampoo is good for cleansing and maintaining oil levels. It’s not an affective treatment for seborrheic dermatitis in itself but good to use as a cleanser to allow other treatments to penetrate in my view

My scalp is very itchy and scaly but this shampoo is starting to relieve all this, makes hair soft and smell nice, am positive it’s good for the hair, my mum used it years ago and she had beautiful hair.

Started using this in a hospital setting when it came from the pharmacy. It’s very good for the scalp and hair so I started buying it for myself and I am still using it almost 50 years later and I have a good head of hair, so it can’t be bad lol

used twice and already feel and see a difference. no itching, hardly any flaking and my hair is sooo soft!! lathers up into a manageable amount so you can cover everywhere without using half the bottle

I chose Neutrogena T/Gel Scalp Relief primarily for persistent dandruff and scalp flaking that milder shampoos had failed to control, and I approached it as a treatment rather than a cosmetic product. The shampoo itself is quite thin and medicinal in character, with a neutral scent that dissipates quickly. On application, it spreads easily and produces modest lather, and I noticed an immediate cooling, slightly astringent sensation consistent with the salicylic acid content. It rinses cleanly without leaving residue, though the hair feels stripped unless followed with conditioner. After several washes, flaking was reduced and scalp itching noticeably calmer, which confirms that the formulation is doing something substantive rather than cosmetic. However, regular use dries my hair and leaves the scalp feeling tight if used more than twice weekly. It is effective as a targeted intervention, but not something I would want to use continuously. The twin-pack offers practical value, but this is very much a functional treatment with clear trade-offs in comfort and hair feel.
