How does this work with thickening toenails? Is it a anti-fungal medication?

Not an anti fungal. It just helps your skin exfoliate. I personally do not have thickened mails but I do believe I read that it helps. Just a heads up- this stuff works really well and it’s really important to put on moisturizer after it dries. Otherwise your feet will get super dry and flakey.

I wish to use this product to soften my toenails, so I can add an antifungal cream (Lamisil with terbinafine) to penetrate the nails. Is this ok?

Yes - actually we work with podiatrists who recommend using Urea Gel along with antifungal treatments. The Urea Gel helps soften the nail so the antifungal can penetrate more deeply. Many people with very thick toenails find that the urea gel helps soften the nail, making it a little easier to file. Hope that is helpful!
