Roo Beauty Ltd Knitting Yarn Holder, Wool Storage Bag In Pink Polka Dot

Well made 10" tall and 5.75" Dia.Mine is the red and white polka dot version to match the Roo Beauty knitting bag and the Roobeauty compartmentalised carry bag of which I have 2.This item will fit two 100 gr balls of Double Knitting easily or THREE cakes of the same pushed down a bit. A cake is yarn wound firmly with a yarn winder.The inside is black. The zip seems substantial and has the RB icon showing on tag.This week I have found it useful to hold and carry around the current cake of yarn I am using to knit the back and fronts (all kntted in one) of a 26/28" child's cardigan on a circular needle. The needle being circular and the knitting fits in the holder. Short straight needles would fit too.The lid of the holder has the usual hole prepared in its top. Personally I never use these holes as when you put your knitting away you are left with the yarn hanging from the whole and your knitting and needles sitting outside of the holder. The holder fits well though inside the Roo beauty Knitting Bag which would protect knitting on straight needles.. I solved the hole problem by partly closing the zip and having the end of the yarn come through the space. Hopefully the zip won't chaff the yarn as it comes through the space.Edit - I have bought a short length of flexible plastic tubing. I thread the yarn through the tubing and hang the tubing over the edge of the bag and close the zip up tight so the yarn travelling through the tube does not touch the zip.I found the bag would stand up straight even when empty but when yarn is inside pulling on the yarn made the holder fall over occasionally this means if a ball of yarn is smallish you need the lid closed. Edit - this does not happen now I use the tubeThe holder is not waterproof but could be used to disguise for instance - unused nappy and changing items..Great holder especially if you are used to using the holes provided on these things.

Holds a 100g ball of wool, but when knitting doesn’t seem much room for wool to unwind.Still happy with my purchase as it keeps wool nice and clean
