Made in Germany! Very good quality.Had the white felt-like layer pre-filter, often a "cold climate filter," designed to add a layer of protection by catching larger debris like wet snow, bugs, and dust before they reach the main filter media. This pre-filter keeps air entering your engine/Turbo extra pure.

This fit my 2003 Golf 1.9TDI very well. I did not need the layer meant to keep out blowing snow as I live in Florida, but it did not matter. It fit well and it was my only choice on Amazon at the time. Good quality and good price.

Great OEM Replacement filter, Originally I went to the auto parts store to get a air filter for my vehicle, all the filters they carried looked the same, but was of a different design than what was in the vehicle. After getting home and struggling to get the air box back together, as the new filter had thicker and harder gasket compound, in the end the bolts stripped out with all force the aftermarket filter was applying to the box. Finally I decided to order this filter and amazingly it fit right in without force to get the air box to close. The gasket compound is much softer conforming to the contours of the air box, and has a pre-filter below. I would highly recommend anyone with a VW to order this filter instead of risking damage from an aftermarket one and needing to get a replacement air box due to stripped holes and broken clips.

Even though it states it doesn't fit a 2003 VW Golf TDI, it does (third time ordering and using). And, it does it well. Price is way better than the dealer or shop - shop wanted over $100 to install. While I was at it, I also ordered the Mann cabin filter - got both for under $30.

It does the job. This probably fits multiple cars, but on the Jetta mk4 there is not supposed to be a white pre filter, which helps with longevity of the filter, but reduces airflow. I removed it for better flow.
