Timothy Wood Limited 3 Pack of Grade 13 Fire Rated Ball Bearing Door Butt Hinges 4" 102mm - Stainless Steel

Just received a pack of three hinges. They seem very robust but only one out of the three has a smooth action. The other two are quite stiff and feel like I'm doing some kind of hand strength workout. I've been trying to work them loose hoping the grease will find a way through but it doesn't seem to be getting any better. Will give them another go in the morning and if they are still very stiff I'll be getting a new set sent out instead. They are for my MIL's (very heavy) shed door (hence why I wanted stainless steel), and I get that with a door on them they might open easier due to leverage but it's weird that one of the hinges opens much easier than the other two which makes it seem more like an engineering tolerance/accuracy issue. I don't want it to be laborious for my MIL to open-close her shed door. EDIT: now that hinges are installed the door swings open/closed effortlessly. Very robust and well built product at a great price. Would buy again.

These appear well engineered and can hold plenty of weight. Just installed a glazed external door which opens smoothly and silently. Very happy.

Great product. 1) Boxed in 3s - 4" hinges are often found on external doors and fitted in 3s, so much more sensible than buying pairs. 2) These are are sturdy items with thick leaves (unlike the cheaper alternatives), beautifully finished complete with gold coloured text and BS/CE markings. 3) The hinge leaves don't have the usual staggered zig-zag layout for the screw holes which is brilliant - one is not compelled to re-use old holes - especially useful when one has had to drill the heads off old screws to remove the previous hinges!

Not much to say about hinges! They are great quality and they hinge well.

If you are looking for high quality fire rated hinges, look no further. The set that were sent were Zoo branded and were really good quality with decent screws aswell.

Amazing quality, very sturdy and very smooth action plus excellent value for money, these hinges will be pefect for my project.
