I have a steep riser to my stairs - have a split foyer designed house, so you come in front door and have a landing and then decide to go or down seven stairs each staircase. I started out with just doing one staircase but I can tell the difference on my knees. Sometimes I walk down the stairs backwards (like in the old days when skiing w/ boots on).It's an easier movement to your knees but I know when you get older, you feel nervous about that type of procedure.Anyway, before I go the chair lift route (wrap around is custom and starts at $10K so no thank you), plus I still want the movement, the exercise despite having a cruddy knee - so these really are helpful. It's best if you have a footprint on the smaller side (I'm a 9.5 women, not small but thinking about men's sizes) and it's probably better for the larger size feet to screw the stairs in. I do not, don't want holes in my rug either so I'm careful to push them back every few trips. Glad such a thing exists : ), helps a lot!

While these will still do the trick, there was not any non-skid material on the top, or in the package, and there were no directions. They are very heavy duty feeling. Apparently, you are supposed to screw these to the stairs, which I am not going to do because I don't want holes in my carpet. This item was shipped and delivered as stated. I'm keeping it due to the high cost it would take to ship back, but I'm seriously disappointed. The seller was Simplified Home Solutions.

Small steps, had to return

I have very painful knees, and unfortunately must climb four steep steps to my porch (of course coming down is a bad ordeal too). Saw similar half steps online, but they were much more expensive. Searched my favorite, Amazon, and found these. The steps work really well, and do have screws and nonslip pads. Only wish they were larger squares. I wear size 8 shoe. Someone with a larger shoe size would have difficulty using.

I HAVE HIP TROUBLE. WITH THESE I CAN MAKE THE TRIP OUTSIDE. THE OUTSIDE STAIRS ARE TALLER THAN THE ONES INSIDE. THEY CAME WITH A NONSKID SURFACE TO ATTACH. THEY'RE HEAVY ENOUGH NOT TO SLIDE IN MY OPINION.

I bought this product to assist me up and down stairs after a new injury. I don't want to permanently attach it to my stairs. I tried it once and didn't feel safe and steady. It will probably end up in my charity box.

I recently purchased these for my sister who just had back surgery. Absolutely wonderful product. Very sturdy and is perfect for our stairs.

Although one arrived broken, it was replaced immediately without difficulty. Grandma loves them and she feels very secure using.
