Tastes good. I wish they'd consider using glass jars.
I like the taste and texture of this pickled ham. The texture is nicely chewy, and the tanginess of the pickle juice does not overwhelm the ham flavor. The cubed ham sizes make it easy to snack on too, or use in things like salads and stuff. I wish it came in a bigger jar though. Also, I am not a fan of the fact that these come in plastic jars.

Husband loved them.
My husband said they were great.

Not my thing
So I have never had pickled ham before but heard it was a popular delicacy in the midwest. This is just not for me. The vinegar taste is overwhelming and the sodium level is ridiculous. I do love supporting a small business and if you're a big pickled ham fan this may do perfectly.

Honestly, I was surprised at how much I liked this. Great ham texture with a unique pickled flavor.
I really wasn’t sure what to expect here. Everything I feared turned out to be a non-issue. The texture of the ham is exactly that of freshly cut ham chunks. No sogginess, no over-softness, no anything bad. The flavor is of ham, with a pickle. If this were sliced into sandwich sized pieces, it could be used on a sandwich and the taste would be just like a ham sandwich with pickles on it, except the eater would wonder where in the world the pickles were hiding. It really is good. The only thing I think is an issue is the fact that they do use red dye #40 to color the ham (My guess is the ham would be a bit gray without it, as many similarly treated meats would be). If they tried to color with beets or turmeric or something different, they could remove the artificially colored designation and have better marketing for the product. I mean, how would they make this for the EU, as Red Dye #40 is banned there (as well as in several other places in the world)? It’s definitely a change the company should make, and hopefully they are already looking to do so, as this really is a surprisingly good product.

Just fine...but
Bottle arrived just fine with an intact seal. I usually like pickled things. Eggs, fish, shrimp, calamari, asparagus, and pork rinds. This isn't my favorite though. This has more of a salty taste and not as much of a vinegar taste. I think that I will dump some of the brine out and replace it with something of my own creation. I'm thinking more of a vinegar taste will be nice. I also think that I will put some Cajun seasoning and some black pepper in it. I did this the last time I ordered something pickled too. Just because I want something with more vinegar and spice doesn't mean that this isn't decent stuff. It does seem to be of a decent quality. i could eat this just as it is too. i am calling this 5 stars as the quality is just fine and others would most likely enjoy this.

Sour and Salty, just as described
We like to taste things from other areas that are unique to us. I think this is an acquired taste. There's no heat level to it. It's very salty on it's own. The pickled part with the ham makes it a sour and salty bite of meat. We tried making ham salad out of it, and it worked much better. The salt flavor was toned down, and the pickle flavor was perfect in the ham salad. The item is well packaged and comes with a long best by date. It doesn't have to be stored in the fridge. It's a high quality item.

Well that was good :)
Well that was good - we ate the whole jar at one sitting for lunch with hard boiled eggs, cheese, and bread. We've never had pickled ham before. We did like the taste, texture was good, quality of the ham was good. The brine was not too strong, I'd call it a mild vinegar flavor. A little expensive, but dang it everything is now

Tastes like pickles.
The bottle contains a good number of ham cubes immersed in water. The flavor is more like dill pickles than ham. I guess personally I prefer the taste of ham to that of pickles. This product would probably be best for making appetizers. It would certainly qualify as ultraprocessed food, as it contains nitrates and additives.
