While I like the product it does not connect to my RainPoint WiFi water pump which was the purpose of the purchase - they appear to operate on separate apps provided by the RainPoint (Tuya / Home). Perhaps this is on me for not researching properly but it’s frustrating that two smart products from the same company can’t integrate.

EXACATLY WHAT I NEED! If you’re a veggie grower who travels a lot or just hates the guesswork of watering like me,try this‌. It's affordable and accurate. Just insert them into the soil and leave them there. No need to remove it from soil. No need to clean after each use. The moisture level will be automatically detected and displayed on the sensor or app if you connect it with RainPoint wifi hub. Bought the gateway+sensor kit and six individual sensors to take care of my veggie garden during my 4-week business trip in Europe, so that I don’t need to pay for plant-sitting. The app is quite user-friendly and connection is stable. Integration the sensors with my existing RainPoint smart watering system is a breeze. I checked the app daily during my trip to see how my veggies doing and feel stay connected with them while I am away.I am very pleased that all my veggies are doing well when I am back. It's a huge help to save my time and water bill in my daily plant care routine no matter where I am. P.S. Different plants have different watering frequency and change of season or ambient humidity/temperature also affect their watering needs. I utilize the sensors to help determine the preferred moisture level for different plants and the appropriate watering schedules, which is great. Love the reliability and convenience this product brings!

Great product. Little broken hearted that they couldn't even put AAA batteries with it to get started.

Firstly, this is the only moisture sensor available on Amazon Canada. Secondly, it's in the list of products that came with my rain timers. I order it, and it won't connect. Rainpoint is telling me that I have to order a sensor from AmazonUS - then what? More shipping fees, import/tariffs? Why is it incompatible? Why are you offering an incompatible sensor and not the compatible one? Their other products are clunky enough with connections etc. If I could turn back time on the whole company's system I would.

Last year I purchased their older Bluetooth model which was okay but had shortcomings that this new model overcame. The biggest improvement was this model has a digital readout right on the meter so you can check without your phone. The Wifi also allows for email notifications that tell you when water levels are low which is a gamechanger. My older model had issues with sun causing inaccurate soil temperatures, I have not had an opportunity to check that this year. The biggest criticism is that you need to remove two very small phillips screws to replace the battery. Most people will have to buy a specialized small phillips screwdriver to do this, not cool! The company also should have offered older bluetooth customers a bigger discount to replace their hub for this newer model. I've not been impressed with their customer service. Update March 2025 - Because this is a Third Party seller, they get your contact information on a review so you are not anonymous. Shame on Amazon for giving this info to them! Now customer service is offering to credit me for my old outdated Bluetooth models. So apparently customers have to leave reviews to get service.

They are ideal for monitoring the moisture levels and I am currently using them for both indoor plants as well as outdoor plants. The battery compartment seals nicely, which is key when you are leaving them outside in a spot you intend for them to routinely get wet. The data is simple and easy to read with the bonus of being able to see the moisture level on the display AND in the app. I use those sensors to adjust my sprinkler and automated plant watering systems so the plants get the right amount of water. They are not ugly nor do they stand out, they have already taken a beating and my plants have been healthy from the word 'go'. I'd love to integrate these directly with my third party watering apps but overall for the price you'd be insane not to get these.
