Nice desktop system for $120
I received this system less than a week ago and I've been listening to it ever since. Overall it does sound pretty good but when you crank it up, it has a lot of shrill and metallic sound due to the 2½" midrange driver. I thought I would experiment with replacing the mid and bass drivers. So today I opened them up and discovered that the replacement 2½ inch midrange I bought would not fit properly and the original was soldered to the wires. I also discovered that the midrange had it's own compartment. So I stuffed each compartment with 4 cotton balls to help with the harshness from the midrange driver. Then I opened the 4 inch woofer and it was attached with lugs. So I was able to replace the metal woofer with a Dayton Audio 4" woofer with paper cone and it fit perfectly. I also noticed that the box had no damping material of any kind and the port was curved therefore allowing the small woofers to produce deeper bass in such a small box. The woofer and midrange have no crossover. They are straight wired and running at full frequency but the silk tweeter has an adequate capacitor and doesn't sound shrill like the midrange and woofer did. Now I'm listening to the drastically improved speakers. The harsh shrill has drastically improved on the midrange. The tweeter sounds the same of course, and the woofer produces deeper upper bass now. The stereo imaging and depth has drastically improved. When I listen to Céline Dion it sounds like she's right in my living room singing to me. This system would be perfect with a subwoofer but there is no output to a subwoofer which is too bad. I would say that the sound from the original drivers was adequate but the improvement made them sound like $500 instead of $120. I would recommend this system definitely for a desktop or small room or apartment where you don't want booming bass to disturb the neighbors.

Please don't bother with these if you are any kind of discriminating listener
It's a shame, there's a lot of seeming potential but they dropped the ball when a pair of $75 powered BT speakers by another brand (Singing Wood), which have a smaller woofer, are much louder, clearer, and more detailed. How do you make a speaker twice the price so terrible? Also these would be terrible studio monitors, there's nothing approximating any kind of flatness here, there's built-in loudness eq that makes the bass quite heavy when the volume is low and I think they believe this would be impressive to listeners but what good is that if the rest of the frequency response is terrible? The midrange is atrocious, there is a terrible resonance probably around 2-3k and it sounds like it's coming through a paper towel tube. Honestly, why do you need the little "midbass" driver? It is only for show and probably contributed to this problem with their design, or perhaps there is a defect in mine. Please save yourself the trouble if you are looking for something that sounds good. Really wanted to like and keep these but could not. And one more thing: YOU CANNOT CHANGE INPUTS WITHOUT HEARING AN INCREDIBLY ANNOYING VOICE PROMPT! There is no "Bluetooth" or "Optical" remote button so you have to cycle through several inputs, waiting for the voice prompt at each turn. Not good.

Small package and price. Big sound.
Value - 5 starsSound - 4 starsAppearance - 5 starsThe speakers sound great for their size and price. The bass is excellent for such a small speaker though it can get a little boomy at times (a characteristic of ported speakers).Treble is good. Midrange also good but gets a little muddy when the volume is turned up.CDs sound way better than blutooth in general. However you can get pretty good sound via blutooth by changing bass and trebleThe biggest con is that the speakers went on sale the day after I bought them! The second issue is the length of the wire connecting left and right together. It should be a few feet longer.

Very poor sound quality; don't buy these.
I expected these speakers to be very good, because they had been well rated by experts, and consumers also mostly seemed to like them. However, I should have paid more attention to the pretty detailed negative reviews, because they were accurate regarding the speakers I received. It is possible that there is simply poor quality control, and I got a pair of bad speakers, but my speakers had almost no treble, little midrange, and a too-loud, vibrating bass. I am no audio expert, but even I could tell they were terrible. My friend, who is more knowledgeable, verified my opinion. I have returned them, after testing on both music and voice (TV, radio) applications.
