Scanpan Classic 3 Qt Nonstick Covered Saucepan – Metal Utensil Safe, Dishwasher & Oven Safe to 500°F, Works on Gas & Electric Stovetops, Black

I had been searching for good quality, non-stick and safe pans to replace the teflon coated pans which are being discontinued due to the potentially toxic materials. I had never heard of Scanpans but after researching and reading reviews I decided to buy this 1 Quart Saucepan and give it a try. The pan arrived quickly and in perfect condition. After reading the instructions the pan was cleaned and lid assembled with no difficulty. I used low to medium heat as recommended and made scrambled eggs with very little oil (didn't really need oil) and the eggs slid out onto my plate with ease. The clean up was awesome! Just soap and water and it wiped clean, no scrubbing necessary. I am guessing that those people who have been unhappy with their Scanpans is due to using high heat which destroyed the surface lining of their pans. If you follow the manufacturers instructions and use lower heat you probably won't be disappointed. I was so pleased with this 1 quart sauce pan that I purchased the 5 Quart Sauce Pot and plan to add additional pots and pans to my kitchen in the future. They really are as good as people are reporting.

The only mistake I made was leaving this pan in my wish list for so long. It’s the best small pot I’ve ever had. Nothing sticks. The handle doesn’t get hot. Even the top of the lid doesn’t get hot. I LOVE the pour spouts which do not slow down the heating process. I use it to make my coffee every day, for my small double boiler, to make small amounts of rice.

Scanpan has become my go-to for cookware. This is the best non-stick surface I have ever used. Better yet, it is rugged. I started with a skillet several years ago and the cooking surface on it is just as good as the day I got it. None of this god-knows-what flaking off after using it for a month. Well worth the premium price! Only thing I would say is a negative on them is that I wish they would offer more of a selection in this line. I would definitely replace a lot of my other specialty pans with these if they had them.

This is a good size for boiling veggies etc. What I didn't realize because I didn't look at the picture carefully or reviews is the pan had pour spouts on BOTH sides so cooking anything that needs a full cover isn't happening unless you use foil etc. The quality is good and washes up well.

I have been a fan of Scanpans. I chose the Classic (over Professional, which was approximately $30 more) because I like the visibility provided by the glass lid. However, not only is the knob on this lid tricky to assemble, but also liquid gets trapped under the knob assembly in cooking and in washing. I contacted Scanpan hoping to exchange the lid for a solid metal one, or learn of a fix, because this is an unacceptable place for moisture/mold/bacteria to accumulate. They told me if I didn't like the lid, I should buy another one on their website. When I questioned this response, they did not reply. Sorry I discarded the packing - I should have returned it.

I own over 10 ScanPan pots and pans and have enjoyed them for years. They clean up easily if washed by hand and look great out of the dishwasher. I look at my 2017 fry pan and compare it to my new 2024 condition and it looks the same. I use Brillo pads to keep the bottom looking like new.

I bought this pan to replace an identical Scanpan saucepan that I have had for ages, and which was still looking pretty great. A well intentioned guest using an immersion blender, nicked my pot badly, This new pan is exactly like the old one except for the lid now having a metal rim. Good idea! as I chip quite a few of the old lids. The rimless old lid was also 2 times heavier. What I love also about this pan is the handle which feels great in one's hand, comfortable with smooth and more rounded edges, thus making it easy to hold, unlike that of the Calphalon tri-ply stainless steel series. (I have a few pieces). The pan's non-stick titanium-ceramic material releases food effortlessly, and requires no polishing or scrubbing. I use BarKeeper's Friend cleansing powder to remove stubborn burnt grease stains! Highly recommended! Highly, highly recommended!
