This Google Nest Hub was a great addition to our house, we have smart appliances in a lot of the house, from Roombas to Lights, etc, and all of those work seamlessly with the Nest. The only concern I had when it first arrived was the language was in Chinese including the instructions, HOWEVER, unlike what i've seen in other reviews the moment it detected my phones language for setup it automatically changed the language to English. Based on what I could find online this appears to be a benefit of using a Samsung phone over an Apple phone. You might have some slight issues with the first setup of the product if it fails to change languages, but setting it up was an ease for me. Regardless of it being a Chinese model out of the box, it functions perfectly fine with no downsides compared to an English/American model.

I bought several of these this December for my Family for Christmas because they promised to arrive in time for Christmas unlike other Google Nest hubs on Amazon. I originally set this up with my iPhone at my Parents house and thought it was a piece of junk, there was no way to set the language to English, it was stuck on Chinese! I factory reset it 3 times. After hours of frustration I figured out that after resetting it you should SET IT UP WITH AN ANDROID PHONE INSTEAD OF IPHONE TO CHANGE THE LANGUAGE to your Google profile set language. Again, from the very beginning or after factory resetting this, add it to your Google account on the Google Home app USING AN ANDROID PHONE!! Save yourself the frustration and do not set this up on an iPhone unless you want it to get stuck on Chinese. I’m giving this three stars because Google made this Extremely extremely frustrating to change the display language of this device. I almost returned all of these devices, I was not happy, Google needs to make this easy to change the language. They call this the “International Version” for crying out loud so it should take me 3 seconds to change the language not 3 hours!!!!!

Bought 2 hubs to be able to use with baby monitors and cameras. Setup was pretty simple and integration into a Google household the integration was easy through the Google home app,.though it is a bit odd every starts off in Chinese. I was able to set the screen to play photo albums when not in use. I will say the integration with the Google supported baby monitor isn't flawless but not sure if it's a this product or baby monitor problem.

All the packaging in is Chinese. I bought two of these units. One of them started up in English after connected to Google Home. The other we could only get to work in Chinese, and there is no language selection option in the device settings. The only way we could get this second unit to switch to English was to cast a YouTube video with *proper* English subtitles (not auto-generated) after reading a troubleshooting post on Reddit. I picked a video from ThioJoe's channel, because he always includes proper subtitles, and set closed captioning to on and changed the CC language to English. After that, part of the device started displaying text in English, but not all (for example, setting a light to off still displayed the Chinese characters for off). Two reboots later, everything was displaying in English. It's still displaying in English now for everything, so I think we're OK, but this definitely should have been mentioned in the description. Not exactly what I want to be troubleshooting on Christmas morning.
