Tried plenty of this. Really good

I bought this because I found my aerosol spray wasn't working.I lost a bit of faith with the unit when I saw a fly get in and out unscathed but since then a steady stream of insects have been zapped, particularly over night when Limited other light sources.EDIT: After two months, one of the tubes stopped working. As out of return period, I contacted the vendor who claimed it was Amazons responsibility until I pointed out the Amazon page referred mevto them. They then sent two tubes free of charge

Bought this Fly Zapper on 21 Dec 19 for use in the attic. It has killed flies but it is not very effective at attracting them even in a dark attic space. The bulbs have now failed after less than 6 months. Like another reviewer I have noticed that the bulbs are both glued in place. I do not consider 6 months bulb life as value for money. When these units were sold in 2015 they had two spare bulbs, I expect that this was to account for the poor bulb life. I did not get any spare bulbs when I purchased in Dec 19.Unfortunate I cannot recommend this product.

What a fantastic piece of kit. Easy to position can be put on a shelf but we have found the best position is hanging from ceiling. We live in the country so you are guaranteed to have problems with flies and wasps and tiny fruit flies. In the past we have relied on fly papers hanging from ceiling they are unhygienic and soon fill up with dead flies. We have been looking for a well priced Fly Exterminator and we found Exterminator 16v it is well constructed and is compact in size. At first we tried it on a shelf but it did not catch many flies so we hung it from the ceiling above the fruit bowls success we were in business averaging a total kill of 25 per day. You have to get used to the noise when a fly enters the unit initially there is a snap as the fly/wasp gets fried and the crackle and pop at the end the bigger the prey the louder the sounds.Emptying the unit could not be easier just slide out the debris tray and empty into the composting bin there is even a brush supplied to clean out the corners.We are so impressed with this kit we are buying another for our conservatory. We cannot praise and recommend this unit high enough it is five stars all the way.

Fantastic piece of equipment, does exactly what it is supposed to do, exterminates all flying pests without problems or fuss, no mess, easy to empty tray, great value.

Purchased Jul 2020Replaced bulbs Oct 2020Device as dead as the insects it killed by Nov 2021.Worked well, machine only lasted 16 months. You get what you pay for comparatively priced, good if you do not have a large budget. It's the second budget range device I have had, neither lasted 18 months.

Great for getting rid of bluebottles and some very small bugs. We put it in the garage and it was really effective. It was less successful in getting rid of moths - which is why we bought it originally. The old adage of moths being attracted to the light didn’t really ring true. We are pleased that it keeps general insect population down but quite an expensive way to do it. Removing dead bugs is easy with the tray and little brush for wiping filaments is useful too.

Brilliant. My only gripe is that I had to wait for a couple of days for some warm weather when the flies are about. I feel rather guilty about saying this but I got great pleasure of hearing the buzzing sound when the flies met their maker! Well worth the money.
