This Step 1 book is wonderful for beginners! The sentences are short, simple, and repetitive—just right for building confidence in new readers. The pictures are colorful and engaging, helping little ones connect words with meaning. My child loves pointing out familiar words and “reading” along with me. It’s a great choice for preschoolers and kindergarteners who are just starting to sound out words.

My beginner reader enjoyed this book even though she is not a fan of reading yet. The print was large enough to distinguish word for word. Easy to underline the syllables in each word to further make it easier to break down the longer words. The pictures were great to help my reader associate the writing with the pictures.

A great tool to get kids into reading! It’s not a research paper in a scholarly journal. You’re not going to learn a whole lot and there isn’t much of a plot. But it does the job. My daughter likes Barbie and she likes practicing reading this. These quick easy to follow books help build confidence and keep kids interested. The stickers are a fun reward for her to play with too.

If your kiddos like Barbie, it’s a good book

Kids love this book, arrived quickly

Really nice book for my 5 year old who can read this fairly confidently on her own bar a few of the longer/trickier words, short sentences make it easier to read and the font is also large and easy to read. Bonus that at the back there are two pages of barbie stickers! Really like that the step into reading books are on actual stuff children love like barbie/frozen/Disney and many more as its something she enjoys reading and wants to find out what happens in the story and already knows who the characters are 😊 I've since purchased a few more of the step into reading range which are fab!
