Amazon misleads on shipping
I purchased this light and it works great. Very bright and only a small handful. The 3 way switch advertised is nothing more than screwing the back in tighter but it works OK. I knew it when I bought it. No complaints, only funny to call it a switch. My complaint would be with Amazon for NOT being honest. I purchased and paid for it on Feb 27. Amazon immediately said it was in transit and even gave a tracking number. When I checked the number it didn't exist. The Amazon continued saying things like arrival but with no point of arrival, or departed with no point of departure. Finally on March 3 the tracking number changed and when I checked this one it said label created. The tracking then proceeded to be posted and the item arrived on the day the USPO said it would. This appeared to be an attempt by Amazon to look better than they were performing. Shame on you Amazon. As far as the light, I'm pleased and would gladly recommend it. Its built like a tank.

Best Flashlight
OK, I admit it. From the time I was 6 or 7, I have always liked flashlights. And I hate the idea of never being able to find a flashlight when I need one so I keep several (many) of them around the house. Five or six years ago, I had a bunch of Maglights. You know, those big things that also doubled as a self defense weapon. These are very sturdy and dependable, but alas they are old technology. Then along came LED flashlights. I now have several of this type and the difference is night and day. I think this particular model (X03) is simply the best flashlight out there. It is well made, produces what seems like 5 times as much illumination as the old Maglight and is so much smaller. If I could afford it, I would dump all my other flashlights and replace them all with these. Really. The only negative is that this model is now made in China. Sigh. It seems most everything is these days. Still, I can't ding the product for where it was made.

Good price, great quality, needs a couple improvements
I have been buying Inova flashlights since they first came out. The quality is top notch, as good as any you will find. I prefer flashlights that use 123a batteries because of their long shelf life. If you shop around, you can get them very cheaply (often on sale for $1 each).Unfortunately, this is the single power model. The newer models have a dual output which removes one of my main gripes. This is a powerful thrower flashlight that is not practical for up close work. Evidently there was an even earlier model with a TIROS lens, not the reflector found in this one. I have and older X02 with the TIROS lens and the beam is too narrow for most purposes. This reflector has more spill. Either way. you will blind yourself if you try to illuminate something closer than 3 feet. For this reason, this will not work as an all purpose light. The newer dual output light would be a perfect all purpose light. I would get a newer model but instead I am getting the Surefire Fury which also has dual output, but significantly more power. My second gripe is minor and applies to most Inova flashlights and that is the tail cap switch. It's fine if you want to twist it for constant illumination, but for push-to-illuminate usage, it doesn't work as well as it should. You have to unscrew it quite a bit to avoid accidental illumination in a pocket or glove box. Once you do that, you have to press it pretty hard to get it to make contact and at that point it's just barely contacting the battery and will often switch back off. I also don't like that the button really doesn't do anything. You are actually just pressing the cap back down, rather than the rubber button, which means the threads have some play in them.On the plus side, this is quite a bit cheaper than other similar lights from Surefire or Fenix. It's very well crafted and beautiful to look at for that matter. Inova makes the sexiest flashlights on the market. One possible advantage of this light over the newer dual power model might be instant on. I'm not exactly sure how the new dual power cap works, but you might have to go through the lower power mode before you get the full 200 lumen mode. If that is true, this light would be a better defensive light. Shine this in someone's eyes, and they will be night blind for several minutes. In all other respects, I would make sure you are buying the newer dual power model, because it would be far superior as an all purpose light. I would give the newer X03 5 stars without hesitation.I am definitely keeping this flashlight. It's perfect as a defensive nightstand companion when things go bump in the night. It's a one trick pony, however and won't ever accompany me on a camping trip or reside in a glove box.

A Great Flashlight finally
I have been buying flashlights for many years, kind of like the old home improvement idea of "more power." I bought a 1 watt, then a 2 watt, and finally a 3 watt. None of them were exceptional. Finally, I saw this product (and the price); I read a bunch of reviews and the only negative thing I could find was the shortness of the battery life. That's because the flashlight actually REALLY illuminates the area it shines on. It's the best one I have ever had by far. As to the battery life, so far mine has held up well (but I probably have less than an hour on it). My only mild complaint is I would prefer a button to turn it on; you twist the back part of the handle to get it to function. All in all, it appears well made, and it does what it says it will do: Shines a high power light.
