Good wood filler
zar is a good wood filler, it is not totally stainable, but will take stain somewhat, an it can be sanded, carved etc..

Works great. Just use a respirator when sanding.
Yes, easy to use. Dries to a plaster consistency. BE AWARE that if sanding it is a carcinogenic substance and use a respirator. I didn't know that until I read the fine print and I had already sanded it with my vacuum type sander. I am disposing the vacuum canister and have ordered a replacement. I'm not sure how bad it could be, but why chance it. That being said, it worked well, dried well.

Works well, dries pretty quickly, washes off easy
I needed wood filler to fix a wooden statue that was cracking apart. It was pretty easy to squeeze into the bigger cracks and then wipe the excess away. I had to do more than one pass with it on some of the deeper gouges, since I accidentally wiped away too much and left a slight groove. This stuff also washes off pretty easily. I didn't wear gloves while working with it, and it was no trouble to remove.

Good quality filler/patch that can be worked after drying and takes paint fairly well.
Good wood putty that fills cracks nicely and can be easily sanded or even carved once dry, although it is a little brittle so you need a very sharp knife or gouge. Takes paint well although there is a noticeable difference in shade and color from that of surrounding wood so you will need to accommodate for that if the place you use it is very large or prominent. I like the squeeze tube instead of a jar or can but I wish it came in smaller tubes, like a 1-ounce tube.

I'd had to buy (and use) some other brand name commonly stocked total garbage gritty wood fill at the hardware store because I .
Thank you, Amazon, for carrying this product. I'd had to buy (and use) some other brand name commonly stocked total garbage gritty wood fill at the hardware store because I couldn't find my Zar. Anywhere. I don't know why I didn't find it here. The other stuff is going where it belongs... in the garbage. (NOW, I am seeing it online (only) at the home improvement stores as a special order. I couldn't find it that way before.)This is the best fill for nail holes in trim work. It goes on smooth and sands, or wipes, clean and flat. I was asking myself, is THIS (the garbage stuff) the best that our American finish carpenters and painters expect / need / ask for? I can't believe that a good carpenter or painter would accept the spoiling of his work by the garbage fill.

Great value
Easy application and easy to work with... sands well... holds paint well.I JUST WISH THAT WHEN I ORDER SOMETHING AND THEY SAY "IF YOU ORDER WITHIN THE NEXT 2 HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES YOU WILL RECEIVE IT TOMORROW" AND THEN IT SHOWS UP THE DAY AFTER. It really pisses me off.

Magical!!!
My lab chewed of the edges of the tv stand and I was able to fix it. This is also very simple to use. Thumbs up!

I absolutely love this product.
For one, the texture is great to work with and feels chalky. I used my fingers for the application and it gets easily into the tiniest grooves and dries fast. I built a 7' door with paint sticks, filled with this product in between, sanded and applied a walnut stain (much darker than the product which comes in a natural shade). The doors came out beautifully. I will not use anything else for any project from now on!
