Instructions were easy enough to follow so that he never once had to ask for help. In the end. He has a functioning car that lights up and follows the directional prompts of the remote. He immediately put it together with no assistance, and only had one small bit of damage to a front fender, which did not effect the function. (He did the damage popping the piece out of the sheet, it was intact when it arrived.) He managed to do all the wiring and assembly himself, and was driving it around the house successfully by dinner time! He said that "I almost asked dad for some help doing the heat shrinking part, but he told me where a lighter was and I was able to do it with no trouble on my own. This is the best STEM kit I have done in a while!" (He is a cub scout and has been trained to use knives, lighters etc. safely and correctly from a young age.
