Good value, strong, clear (to see filter condition) and simple. I'd buy these again for sure.
Get fat teflon tape and use a lot of it. Don't bother with compound, or use both tape and compound. The pipe threads are cut kinda liberally, so they leak easily if you don't use enough tape or don't tighten the fittings enough. Compound alone allows leaks to sneak through. I also had a problem where the valve on top would leak water, but they stopped leaking, so no problem. I believe they're designed to purge air from the system. I think they just needed to seat properly under pressure. When I say "leak", I mean a drip every few minutes, but like I said, they all stopped, so probably normal.

These things are huge and very well made
Holy geeze these are big! They can filter a ton of water for sure! I installed 3 of these for a whole home filter going from 20 microns down to 1 micron. They were easy to install but had to use some serious wall anchors to ensure they would not pull through. They are of solid quality and the design is nice having a air purge. For me they are a good value and I like the clear canister so I can easily tell when the filters are dirty making them more functional than the non clear ones.

Poor quality, leaks through the plastic.
I bought this back in September 2025, but just got around to installing it today. It leaks right through the black plastic housing. If you look at the molding it has a lost of swirls in the leaking area which is indicative of a cold mold. This is very poor quality. Unfortunately the Amazon 30 day return window is closed. I am not happy.

Works Great!
I have owned two of these items for over a year, and they are just great. When I had this item and a whole home water softener installed by my plumber I put one of these before the water going to my whole home water softener and one installed before my tankless water heater. I am getting more than 1 years use from my water filter. I am on city water in florida but I have noticed a huge difference in not seeing calcium buildup in my dishwasher and shower heads. Plumer though it was over kill - but what price do you put on preventive maintenance? Great product.

Not square, Brackets weak and poorly designed
Overall, the filter housings are very heavy duty and nice. However, the brass inserts in the head of the units must not be pressed in square. I bought four of these units and put them together with Heavy duty 1"x1" stainless steel hex pipe nipples. These pipe nipples were very short and strong so they did not contribute to the problem. After assembly the four housings ended up in an arc that resembled teeth in a jack-o-lantern. This exacerbated the next problem with the mounting brackets. The holes in the bracket intended to mount them to he wall are up behind the housing head and can't be accessed if you mount the filter first. The bracket has to be mounted to the wall first. Since the housing were not in a straight line after assembly this made mounting the bracket in the right location almost impossible to line up with the mounting holes for the top of the filters. I ended up having to mount them to a section of treated 2x8 lumber down on the ground, averaging out the arc to try and get them straight and then lifted them all together and anchored the wood to the cement block wall. Quite and ordeal that didn't have to happen if they had first, pressed in the pipe bushing square into the housing and secondly designed the mounting brackets so the the wall mounting holes were accessible below the bottom of the filter housing head. The third problem came when filling the housings. The water was too heavy for the brackets and they sagged down so that the bottom of the filter housings were almost against the wall. They are much too thin o support the weight. They need to be about twice as thick as they are! So in the grand scheme of things, I like the clear housings so I can see the state of my filters, which I think is important for well water and I would buy them again. To help eliminate some of the problems, I would space them out further and use PVC pipe with threaded adapters to allow them to flex slightly, allowing them to be mounted in a straight line. The only thing I can think of to help prevent the sag of the mounting brackets is to mount another board near the bottom to prevent it from angling in toward the wall. he manufacturer should really re-design those for a proper fix that reduces the likely hood of them breaking off a pipe and flooding the house!

Good for project.
Home built system. This is first filter and the housing is good. Clear is a must to see sediment and install was decent. A lower support would have been a benefit as metal bracket is greater then 90*. The housing tilts down a bit.

it's a typical 20" water housing for whole house purpose
I like the size "20"x4.5" for whole house. If you want to clean tap water decently for drinking then you can add the 3 typical filters used for reverse osmosis and then add the membrane, post filters and tank under the sink. I think you can still work it that way, but the whole house would be more sediment free and decently drinkable more then i'd say straight from the city pipes type water which i still think have aftertastes like when we were kids and drank water from a hose lol. So i think most of these will be installed where your hot water tank is as that's usually where the main water supply comes into the house first. I'm using it with a, i'll call it a de-mineralizer filter to lessen sediment and some minerals that tend to block up my tankless heater. But i know the one filter wont do a whole lot but it's better then nothing. My plumber installed only one of these and it was blue plastic, so i'm replacing it with this one with a clear housing so i can see the state of the filter. So overall 5 stars as overall they do help reduce sediment and flavor depending on how many filters you add.

Great replacement for a broken filter.
I had a crack in my whole home filtration system and this was a perfect replacement. Almost the exact size as the original ones and it keeps my water and appliances clean. I have nothing bad to say about it.
