Excellent product
An excellent replacement for red 40 if you have dye sensitive children, it actually makes a really nice pink also if you use less. I made a pretty pink cake and pink icing for my daughter’s 8th birthday. It does have a beet flavor which is not unpleasant.

Food Dye
Works great for baking. The dye mixes in well without changing the texture. There was no taste from the dye.

Color doesn’t hold up in baking
Bought to make a red velvet cake without dye. The color was beautiful but the heat in backing was too much for it. The color did not hold up and the vibrant red batter I had ended up more of a spice cake color. It did work well for the frosting though. The theme was “flash” the super hero.

Tastes Like Beets
I was hoping for a safe alternative to red dye food coloring. I guess this is safe, and it makes things red, but it’s very beet flavor forward, so beware…

Fabulous healthy red food coloring choice
Great healthy food coloring choice. It’s made from beets so you get a wonderful red or pink color. I make gelatin dessert with plain unflavored gelatin. I use monk fruit as a sweetener. This beet powder gives it a similarity ofJello but without the sugar. !!

It doesn't work
I attempted to make a red velvet cake twice. I used the whole jar and the cake still turned out chocolate colored. I used a quarter cup of cocoa the first time, the second attempt I used two tablespoons of cocoa and the cake still turned out brown.

Love this product. Good red color, that you may need a lot of it. I used for cookies and appreciate plant-based alternative to Red dye number 5. No taste difference. Looking forward to trying other colors.

Great plant-derived food coloring
I absolutely love these food colorings. This one is tasteless and makes a beautiful red color without a lot of powder, yet plant derived, so you don't have to worry about all of the petroleum byproducts in your food.
