Great for hand stripping squeamish or beginners
I got this because I was hesitant to start hand stripping my Scottie's coat when it was blown after having surgery. It did an amazing job getting off so much and her coat was so glossy and she was happy during that it helped me build the courage to start with hand stripping on her back. The stone is a great size and shape for hand use and works beautifully. And it doesn't crumble or leave a residue which I was worried about after reading reviews of other product. I've already recommended to others and will purchase again if and when this wears down.

Really does work- mostly.
This is exactly what it looks like - a large pumice stone with rough edges. But---it's worth a try! I bought this for two animals primarily and for furniture. My family has one short haired dog that still somehow sheds like the dickens, and none of our dog brushes get at that fur. We also have a medium haired cat that doesn't shed as much, but definitely could use some brushing to cut down on hairballs. And the unfortunate furniture...which knows all of them, plus our other cats and dogs. Well, the results were mixed. This worked better than a lot of other brushes we have tried on the dog, but didn't work as well on the cat. The Furminator brush got more hair off of both of them. If you need one good tool and have the money to spend, the furminator definitely got more hair out. However, this sucker works AMAZING on furniture. A few swipes and up came fur the vaccum cleaner couldn't touch. Our couches are fabric, but not particularly delicate, so the pumice quality didn't hurt them at all. It also worked really well on my car seats, and the cat tower that needed some fur removed. The fur catches in all the little pumice crevices and we just pull it off after a few swipes. Much better results--and less waste- than those sticky paper lint collectors, and easier to use than the courdery style one I have too. Worth a shot if you are on a budget; even if it doesn't work on your dog or cat, it will certainly have a use for fur collection on rugs or furniture.

Great for dogs hesitant to brushes
My sweet girl is a little neurotic and doesn’t like grooming tools. She has no fear with this. It gets out the loose coat easily and quickly, and so much cheaper than expensive tools! She sheds twice a year, 6 months at a time so being able to easily brush her is key. This passes the Aussie challenge!

Actually removes pet hair from clothes!
At first it seemed rather rigid for clothes but once you determine it's a fairly light touch and the hair doesn't build up on the stone, it becomes the best clothes "brush" ever.

Not so much
I bought this because I have a dog that sheds when you look at her (she is a pit/lab mix). She inherited the labrador part of shedding....all the time....LOL. I bought this stone in the hopes that it would help 'gather' some of the hair on her, especially since she is shedding her winter coat. Not so much. I ended up using the curry brush that I have because this didn't seem to do much. I have read that it is good for getting hair off of car seats so I guess I will try it there next. As for a dog grooming tool, a small curry brush (for a horse) works good.

Amazing- one of the few things that truly works!
I see So many ads for pet hair removal from couches, but a lot of them for the most part do not work. I gave this a try since it is so different than the others like sticky tape and seems pretty harmless for the environment in that it is basically a pumice stone, which we all have something similar to it, but perhaps this is unique to use on my couch, so I thought I’d give it a try. I have a pug who likes to come off her blanket and her tiny little fawn blonde colored hair like to just get attached to my dark gray couch, which is annoying. I love her so much but she is old and it’s hard to balance her having time on the couch, but staying on the blanket yet sort of getting this ridiculous amount of hair stuck into the weave of the couch. Ugh. As soon as I got this, I opened it up, started scraping the fabric and I could not believe how much it just pulled everything off the couch there’s a bit of the pumice that comes off onto the couch, so you’ll want to vacuum up that part of it, but otherwise this was a great purchase! Size & affordable and the only plastic is that it comes in a small plastic sleeve, but less damaging that it’s not a bunch of tape. I highly recommend people get this for dogs with short hair that shed a lot.
