Hana Excel Sound SH Series Moving Coil Cartridges

The low output version of this gets all the accolades, but I decided to try the high output version out... why, I don’t know since my phono stages are all easily adjusted. But I have no regrets because this cartridge sounds amazing! I can’t think of a cartridge that I’ve liked more and I’ve had a few different ones over the years- shelter, grado, clearaudio, grace, nagaoka, Denon, dynavector. I’ve liked all of the ones I’ve listed once they were dialed in. Since I’m only able to mount one cartridge at a time, I can’t say if this is head and shoulders above the others, but what I can say is that this is an amazingly good sounding cartridge with warmth and detail at the same time. It handles bass with authority and confidence, yet the top end is open and imaging is as good or better than anything I’ve ever heard. For under the 1k, definitely worth the price. Definitely recommended. Of course you’ll need a good phono preamp to get the best out of it- I highly recommend Sutherland phono stages.
