Good page size
The book is definitely more about the story which is fine but I was hoping to read more about the artist and the process but I'm happy to have 11x11 size pages of his artwork to view. There's a little bit about the artist at the back of the book.It is written in a way that all ages can understand the story, and I appreciate that the writing is short and to the point and not filled with author editorial.Packing - they just put the book, loose in a box, and because it was sliding around, the paper wrapper cover got some wrinkle damage, luckily it didn't rip.

The Glorious Impossible - Fabulous Book
This is a wonderful book - the combination of Giotto's frescoes of the life of Christ in the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, Italy, and short narrative summaries of the accompanying stories from the Gospels by Madeleine L'Engle. I used to buy it for a new baby or a baptism book whenever there was an occasion and when the parents would appreciate a book of Bible stories accompanied by really good art instead of mediocre illustrations. The book went out of print some years ago, but was still available easily as a used purchase. Then when Madeleine L'Engle died, the used copies became prohibitively expensive. Happily now the used copies are more affordable. The art plates of the frescoes are beautifully done. I have been to the Scrovegni Chapel to see the restored originals, and find this book very valuable. This is a wonderful gift book. It's unfortunate that it isn't being reprinted, but a good used copy is a gem.

Yes, get this book!
This is an absolutely beautiful book, the artwork is stunning and the writing is poetic and sound. This is a book I’ll read throughout my kids’ childhood and pass on to their children. I highly recommend this book!

What a magnificent work. I've purchased two thru Amazon-affiliated booksellers & although not inexpensive it's worth having -- one I gave as a gift, the other as a gift to myself because I love Giotto's frescos and the direct re-telling of the biblical Nativity narrative by M. L'Engle.

A preview of coming attractions for me
I bought this book to familiarize myself with the work in the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua prior to making a visit there. Visitors are allowed a very short time in the chapel. I thought this would give me a chance to observe details in the murals before going there. The illustrations are lovely and the text relates the Bible stories that inspired the work. This should make my visit much more meaningful.

Great book!
Our children love this book. It’s very overpriced due to the short supply...but worth it especially as a daily reading book leading up to Christmas!

Christ's Life from Birth to Resurrection
This beautifully written account of Christ's life, enhanced by time-honored illustrations, is a precious gift to all.I used it to tell the Christmas story from a more realistic perspective -- not just the pretty bits -- to my elementary age Sunday school class and they loved it. I ordered a second copy of the book to cut up so I could mount the pictures on 9 x 12 wood plaques, laying them out as the story unfolded.
