This means if you have a high-end 4K monitor capable of 120Hz or higher, you'll be limited to 4K60 when the card is connected, unless you drop the resolution to 1080p or 1440p to get higher refresh rates. It forces a trade-off. ​No Dedicated Power: Being bus-powered is usually a plus, but it does mean your PC/laptop needs sufficient USB power. ​Final Verdict: It's a solid, reliable, and convenient capture card that delivers great video quality for the price. A Hugh upgrade from the hd 60x and the right upgrade thanks to the ultra wide support now and 144hz capture on a 3440x1440 is a streamers dream. Fits the agenda for consoles such as the Xbox Series S/X as well as PS5. I own all systems and tested this on them and the results are good. Elgato is like the power company and they have you by the balls and you have to go their route as not another company can provide or compete. Now before you yell at me and say avermedia then hear me out. I am not a paid reviewer and I am elgato to the end all because avermedia failed me with their software and input lag which is not good. This capture card 4k x is long needed and should have been what they tried to do with the HD60X. I stream daily with this thing and I never turn it off and it's going strong. This is the capture device I initially meant to buy. So far it works great and connects to my PS5 Pro, Series X and Switch 2 flawlessly, it’s also Mac compatible as I use this on a MacBook Pro M3 Pro.

The Elgato 4K S runs well and compatible to many consoles and Pc builds. The capture card will read Switch 2 devices. It may work on 4K resolution and on 120hz (120fps) refresh rate on the switch 2. The refresh rate on the switch 2 settings may need to be off if your screen freezes or goes black. Many monitors may not be compatible, but there is software resolution settings to adjust to preferences. Not all monitors can handle 120hz. A console and monitor of similar refresh rate is a simple plug and play. The connectivity is simple and software is on the company’s website. It’ll run in 4K and has a steady run time.

You get what you pay for here. High quality and focused capture. I streamed Twitch and it was sooo clear and focused. Simple plug and play set up. No need for extra software.. well except OBS if you use that. Zero lag or latency for me anyway.

It is a very good product. Their cables are braided and has USB-C so I can connect it directly with my Mac mini and iPad. I’m using it with a Nintendo Switch and it works very well with OBS and TikTok Live Studio.

Works really well. Make sure to disable HDCP under HDMI settings on PlayStation before you connect it otherwise youll just get a black screen!!! If you do this first then it works like a dream.
