The fact that you construct the pieces yourself as you start a new puzzle adds to the fun. Your brain is already starting to process which pieces are going to be the difficult ones to fit in and which ones you'll probably end up leaving till later. It's very straightforward to get started with and packs away into a very small space meaning it's not going to be one of those toys that ends up demanding a lot of storage after use. While younger children may struggle with it, the different layouts also vary in difficulty so there is a bit of something for everyone.
