Used for the first time at the weekend, in sting breeze, torrential downpour, and sunshine. Poles are sturdy without being overly heavy, even when full extended. Mechanism feels smooth, though I'd want to keep mud and grit to a minimum to keep it that way. Great length - full height kept the tarp high enough to stand under; lowest was enough to make a decent bivy. Knobbles for making a circus tent work well too.

I have now used these on my awning and they did the job I wanted them to just fine. The plastic on the included pegs is a bit weak but the poles themselves seem quite sturdy and were exactly what I needed, being infinitely adjustable for height within the range. I would say they were as described and feel they are good value for money.

Good lightweight yet sturdy poles. Held up my tarp through some pretty gusty wind. Other cheaper poles I have bent under same conditions. Bit pricey, but I have found them to be worth it. Easy to use, just twist and adjust to length needed.

These feel really solid, adjust easily, and make it easy to set up a tarp next to my car. The little red balls on top are a nice, soft silicone rubber -- perfect for setting up a center pole in the middle of your tarp, without ripping it. The guy lines (is that what they're called?) that came with it are nice, too -- they have a reflective string woven in so they show up great with your flashlight. I'd purchase again! In fact, I might buy a second set. :)
