Nice
So far so good. It's a little difficult to figure out, but I'm learning animal noises. While I'm an adult, I'm trying to get to the basics. It sounds more impressive to know difficult kanji in Japanese, but I feel better about myself if I know colors, animals, ant also more complex ideas, like a Japanese child would, fully integrated. So in hoping this software will help me with that, and so far so good :)

Immersion learning, but hard to understand what to do
My son liked this for a little while; he would ask for it when he woke up from his afternoon nap. But I'm not really sure how much Chinese he learned from it. Most of what he liked to do was just keep pushing the buttons and watch things change or move or be animated. Never really heard him repeat the Chinese. And it was difficult at times for even ME to tell what you were supposed to do in the game, what the point was of the game, or how to go forward/move back. Didn't look at any of the other languages, since we're living in China and only need Chinese, but I would assume that the others would be similar. Maybe if he was a few years older? He's four right now, but that's why we got it: learn at a young age, have it sink in better. Also, there's no "install" option. You always have to have the disc in to get it to run. That, or you can just copy the disc contents onto your computer and make a shortcut to the program in your Start Menu or on your Desktop. Definitely needs to be updated in that respect. Of course, this may be for an "ease of use" aspect so your kid doesn't have to do anything special except put the disc in the CD/DVD-ROM drive. But my kid likes pushing the icon on the desktop better.
