I have used this wireless backup camera for about 10 months. It still works great. The wireless install means I didn't have to rig wires through my car. The entire install took maybe 30 minutes - very quick and easy. The solar powered battery is also great - I keep my car parked outside in the sun and have never had to recharge it so far. The resolution of the camera is great for having a clear picture of what is behind my car. This is a must for anyone with an older vehicle that doesn't come with a backup camera. So far, I am very satisfied with this backup camera.

Great warranty service - solid product. Camera works fine as advertised and reviewed by others here. We had an issue with the camera not maintaining consistent sync/connection with the monitor, but the seller responded quickly and with "no hassle" immediately shipped out a new camera unit. That one seems to be working fine and reliably holds a charge (when parked in our building parking garage - which is lit 24x7). One small gripe is that the camera + solar battery is slightly wider than the spacing of the license plate screws (for USA application) and partially blocks the access to the screws. This makes mounting the unit a little more awkward than it needs to be. We mounted the camera at the top of the license frame immediately below the pull handle for our but still-reliable Toyota Matrix. In order to access the pull lever, I had to attach a small strip of strapping tape, which I then covered in black electrical tape (for appearance). This allows the rear hatch to be unlocked with a small 'tug' on this little pull strap and so far it seems to work fine. The alternative would be to mount the camera in another location which would have resulted in an abysmal, clunky appearance on the rear of the car that I would not and could not tolerate long term. We've only had this a month and don't drive the car more than once or twice a week, so I cannot comment on long-term reliability. The on-screen image appearance and field-of-view is not exactly like an OEM unit, but certainly seems functional and quite acceptable at this price point. And installation is easy (except for the screw spacing issue) thanks to the wireless technology.

I placed the Auto-Vox Solar 3A Plus on a 2001 Toyota Tacoma. Installation of the camera was easy. The monitor placement was a bit more challenging because the curved dash. There wasn’t a flat enough surface to mount the monitor so I had to improvise. I purchased a phone cup holder which was able to accommodate the monitor with stand. This actually allowed me to adjust the monitor depending on light reflection from my windows. The initial attempt at set up did not go smoothly despite following instructions. The monitor did not turn on. I checked out several YouTube videos and confirmed I had followed the set up procedure correctly. When I left to go on an errand, the monitor turned on. Not sure why, but I was elated. I went through the menu and set up the guide. The video quality is spot on. Overall I am very pleased with this back up camera and how this adds a new level of safety to my driving experience.

I did some research and Auto-Vox backup cameras came out on top. The camera was well packaged and every bit as easy to install and get working as described. I wasn't sure if I wanted the 5" camera or the 7" camera and decided the 7" camera was worth the extra cost, which wasn't much. It has the capability to record video which is a plus and lets it also function as a rear dashcam in the 'always on' mode. The picture on the camera is crisp and clear and the color is rich, and the picture is easy to use when backing up. It also has an excellent night-vision picture. I also really like the fact that it is wireless and solar powered. That saved me from a great deal of trouble wiring it up. I know from what my mechanic told me that wiring something in the back of my car, like the collision detection feature of my rear dash cam, would be very labor intensive because of having to completely remove the rear light assembly and work around a lot of obstructions to get something wired up correctly. Being solar powered saved me from all that trouble and time and in only about 5-6 minutes I had the camera and monitor set up and it was working. I've had it about a week so far and have had no trouble with the camera or the monitor. I did an initial charging of the battery and the sun charges the camera battery just like it should so I don't have to worry about battery power for the camera. It connects with the monitor with no trouble at all and there have never been any glitches the monitor picture. There are a lot of other choices in backup cameras but Auto-Vox is one of the best if not the best. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend backup cameras from Auto-Vox. Also, I had a question about something and a customer service rep, Gigi, was extremely helpful. Auto-Vox has great customer service and obviously cares about its customers. Thank you, Auto-Vox!

I got a lot more than I expected from this camera-at a great price. I drive a 2002 Toyota Sequoia. Prior owner wired in a backup camera with a monitor as big as a playing card and as bright as burnt out bulb. I trashed it and got this one. I’d say the installation was easy but I didn’t read the manual. The camera affixed EASILY to the license plate mount - but I couldn’t open the trunk! Then I affixed it to the bottom screws - view was crystal clear but upside down. Packed it up to return and explained why I was returning it. Seller responded immediately, giving clear instructions on how to flip the image. So I unpacked it, mounted it to the bottom license plate screws, turned on the ignition, pushed the menu button-TAH DAH- perfect rear view: long, wide, bright and clear. (So then I looked at the instructions manual. And there was the instruction for flipping the image. Duh). So: get it- get great customer service, great product, great price. AND: read the instructions.

It's been five months that I have been using this backup camera. I wanted to wait to see how it works before posting any reviews. This really works as advertised. The installation instructions were very clear and it was very easy to install. I could not use it on the license plate using the screws, but the adhesive tape worked just fine. The camera has been working great since then. The picture quality is very clear and crisp. The battery time works as advertised. It lasted almost 4 months for me. You can't go wrong with this product. Highly recommended - great value for money.

Easy setup and great image quality. My biggest concern was whether the signal would work well behind my RV. I installed the camera as in the picture, and moved my car in front of the RV as if I were towing it. Beautiful crisp image. I never had to pair anything. Connectivity was flawless and immediate. Since I placed the camera on the bottom part of the plate, the monitor's software allowed me to easily flip the image. My only complaint is that the USB charging cable for the camera did not work. I also tried it with my phone and it told me it was faulty. Small nuisance for a really nice product! Will try it out over the next few days on the highway.

I purchased this camera because my factory installed camera quit working and I like this much better. The installation was a snap, even for an arthritic, elderly woman. I installed it on the bottom of the plate since the top blocked part of the plate, and the bottom view was preferred. The monitor screen (7'2) is very clear, provides the necessary lines for parking and gives a wide angle view. I wish there were a way to keep the monitor active longer, but it is easy to reactivate it if needed. It has been very overcast here and after 6 weeks, it showed the charge was down just a bar. I recharged it anyway to make sure that was working it was charged completely when I checked it just an hour later. Since I have one of those cars where the hood "vanishes" from the driver's seat, I wish I had ordered the dual cameras. I have ordered a second camera to put in the front so I can see how close I am. I had a little trouble finding it on Amazon, but I contacted the seller and after some confusion, they are sending it to me. I can hardly wait to receive it. I understand the dual system comes pre-paired, but this will not. Fingers crossed that it comes quickly and pairs as easily as it installs. Fingers crossed. UPDATE: New camera arrived and installed in a flash. WORTH NOTING: The new camera was set as a rear view and I needed it switched for the front view. I had a little trouble doing that because the instructions are not very detailed. But the support at the vendor was very helpful and I was eventually able to switch it so it works correctly. Also, if you have questions on a purchase or need support, be patient with the human support which is most likely not in your time zone. Email is the best communication, but every response is next day if you are US based. My original frustration was due to confusion with the CHAT AI - once I communicated directly to the seller, things went well and promises were honored. I also learned that the monitor can be set to stay on whenever the monitor is plugged in. It does drain the battery on the camera faster, but you can set it to record continually while the monitor is on. After the change, my cameras held a charge with continuous recording for several weeks. And it charges again very quickly. I highly recommend this product and this company.

I’m really happy with the AUTO‑VOX 7.2" Solar Wireless Reversing Camera with DVR Loop Recording. It was extremely easy to install — the sticky number‑plate mount meant no screws, no drilling, no hassle, which I loved. The camera connected quickly, and the 1080P picture quality is clear and reliable, making reversing and parking much easier. The only downside is that the mount covers a small part of the registration plate. I’m not thrilled about that and I’m hoping it doesn’t cause any issues or fines. Something to be aware of. Aside from that, the camera works brilliantly. The solar charging is convenient, the screen is a good size, and the whole setup feels solid and well‑designed. Overall, a great product — just wish the plate coverage was slightly better thought out.

What a great system. Installing it only takes a few minutes. I could slide the camera behind the license plate, which took a minute. The monitor can be stuck on the dashboard and can also be removed, but I attached it to the window with a suction cup. I tested the range, and it is definitely 100 meters. The image quality is very good. The operation of the monitor is intuitive. When you are reversing or overtaking, you just press the button on the connector, and the camera turns on. The camera can also stay on continuously, but then it needs to be charged every 12 hours.

Goede camera. De camera is makkelijk te installeren, geen kabels van voor naar achter, super handig. Kwaliteit van het beeld is goed en duidelijk. Klantenservice is ook goed, snel antwoord en helpen je erg netjes. Erg blij met mijn camera. Enige puntje is dat ik liever geen vaste 12v aansluiting had gehad, maar Usb of iets, nu moet ik een aparte 12v gebruiken. Maar verder alleen maar pluspunten, zoek je een goede camera zonder kabels dan is deze perfect.

Ich bin großer Fan von den Auto-Vox Produkten und habe auch in meinen anderen 4 Fahrzeugen ausschließlich diese Produkte im Einsatz. Nun probiere ich gerne immer neue Produkte aus und habe mich entschieden, in meinen Opel Astra H Baujahr 2004 diese Rückfahrkamera einzubauen. Lieferumfang und Verpackung Die Kamera kommt mitsamt Zubehör in einem sehr stabilen und hochwertigen Karton. Im Karton ist eine Einlage drin, die die verschiedenen Teile voneinander geschützt getrennt hält. Es ist mitgeliefert die Kamera mit dem Solarmodul, das Display, die Halterung für das Display, ein Klebestreifen für das Solar-Kameramodul und Anschlusskabel (Displaykabel und ein USB-C Ladekabel). Installation Die Installation ist kinderleicht: Man sucht sich eine geeignete Position für das Display und steckt es in die Halterung. Unter der Halterung ist ein Klebepad, man braucht hier zumindest eine einigermaßen ebene Fläche und klebt die Halterung an. Nun wird das Kabel zu einem Zigarettenanzünder geführt und dort angesteckt. Sobald die Rückfahrkamera (es gibt einen kleine Schalter direkt am Stecker des Zigarettenanzünders) aktiviert wird, geht das Display an und das Bild wird sichtbar. Das einzige Kabel, welches man legen muss, ist also das Kabel vom Bildschirm zum Zigarettenanzünder - das wars. Einstellmöglichkeiten Auf der Rückseite des Monitors gibt es drei Knöpfe. Sobald man ins Hauptmenü rein geht, hat man unterschiedliche Optionen wie Helligkeit, Kontrast, Anzeigeformat (gespiegelt oder normal), Rückfahrlinien, Anzeigedauer etc. Außerdem kann man die Kamera hinten mechanisch nach oben und nach unten drehen und so den Anzeigebereich selbst justieren. Lob und Kritik Bei guten Lichtverhältnissen gibt die Kamera im Zusammenspiel mit dem Display ein sehr schönes Bild. Es gibt keine Verzögerung und das Bild sieht gestochen scharf aus. Lediglich an das breite Format muss man sich gewöhnen, aber das dauert sicher nicht lange, wenn man sich ein paar Referenzpunkte z.B. beim Einparken aussucht. Auto-Vox hat bei den alten Kameras Bildschirme mit matten Panels ausgeliefert. Bei dieser Kamera kommt ein glänzendes Display zum Einsatz. Während Autofahrten und gerade im Sommer kann bei ungünstigen Lichtverhältnissen das Bild schwerer zu erkennen sein, weil sich viele unterschiedliche Dinge darin spiegeln können. Bei dieser Kamera könnt ihr im Menü die Rückfahrlinien ein- und ausschalten und noch die Höhe einstellen. Bei den alten Kameras konnte man noch zusätzlich die Breite der Linien einstellen (je nach Spurweite). Die Linien passen natürlich fast nie zu den Fahrzeugdimensionen, bieten aber, wie oben erwähnt, einen Orientierungspunkt, an dem man sich dann beim Rangieren ausrichten kann. Fazit In Summe bietet das Paket einen sehr niedrigschwelligen Einstieg in die Solar-Rückfahrkamera Welt. Die Installation und Einrichtung ist kinderleicht und dauert in der Regel keine Stunde. Die Haptik ist hochwertig und die Qualität des Bildes lässt in diesem Preisbereich keine Wünsche offen. Wenn jetzt noch das matte Display wieder Einzug hält, bin ich weiterhin sehr glücklich.
