MegaMat Heavy-Duty Polycarbonate Mat for Hard Floor/All Carpet, 46 x 60, Clear

I have owned several chair mats over the years, and nearly all of them develop cracks around 18m. Also, I have dry skin on feet and like to be barefoot. On more than one occasion I have caught my heal on edge and sliced it open (yes, there was blood).I tried a diff mat that did have tapered corners however it sank in badly (at other reviews said the same). I'm 300 lbs and XL chair... I need something sturdy. Now, maybe in 18m I'll need to update this review however, based on first and second impressions regarding this glass infused mat:1. The size is perfect for me, I don't like rolling off the mat2. I like that it was delivered flat, no rolling up3. It is RIGID. Not like glass, yet more like that of a poly-carbonate window pane4. The edges are tapered all the way around, I could not get my heal to snag on them (thank goodness)Now I think $330 is a lot for a chair mat, however, if it lasts 4-5 years it will be money well spent.
