Finding the size of authentic OEM Blendtec jars was very difficult-- but happily I found this one which was the perfect size for the larger batches of cooking that our family does! I have used non-original knockoffs purchased online with disastrous results. The original OEM jars are sturdy but after 15+ years, the seal at the bottom started to leak and the blade started to wobble causing problems and I did not want to destroy the base motor unit-- or worse yet have some kind of electrical or other accident. Although this jar was definitely not inexpensive, this was an excellent purchase despite the higher price due to the high quality and OEM authenticity; we've used it multiple times and it has performed like a champ.

The main body and the blade seem to be of good quality. And so far I have not had any problems while using it. The only comment that I would give to Blendtec would be the lid. There have been other comments that the lid seems thin and weaker than it should be for the price. I attached a photo of the lid for this model compared to the Blendtec 16 oz lid (part #40-242), and that lid has twice the thickness compared to this lid, in addition to being more ridged. But while it is thinner and not as ridged, I have noticed that while it is being used, especially during the smoothie setting, there is a draft that pulls the lid down and makes it tight and ridged. So I do not know if that was a planned feature by Blendtec to make it easier to take on and off with this size container while the unit is not running, but then became ridged with the created draft when it is being used. Overall, while there are comments about the lid being thinner, it still works fine. It might be to Blendtec's interests to explain the lid a little more or make a thicker lid, something that the general public would feel like they should get with a blender container that is over $100.

I bought my Blendtec about 12 years ago. After many years of hard use (including a metal spoon mishap), the WildSide jar developed a leak at the bearing. It was time to get a new one. When I received this replacement, I could tell that they had improved the hardware around the jar/blade interface. It should be good for another 12 years.

I needed a replacement jar as the gear in the original finally wore out after many years of use. The new jar is well made. BUT not the lid. It will not stay in the jar and stay down no matter what I do. I am so glad I kept the original for a backup lid, because I will be using it instead of the new. Blendtec needs to get with it, and make a better lid. They advertise quality, so they need to make quality!

Good Jar. Holds up well to heavy use. I bought this replacement jar because the original jar broke after 6 years of use several times per week. Right now, I use jar, and a blentec motor base to this to make a smoothie 1 or 2x daily. I prepare the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie by Anthony William Medical Medium, and sometimes others such as the medical medium liver rescue smoothie, or the extractor smoothie. I use blendtec as a slightly cheaper alternative to Vitamix blenders. Blendtec offers similar models that have the same power motor base so you still blend whatever you wish.

This large jar is perfect for whipping up frozen cocktails, Bracco is my fave! And, it doesn't leak like other blenders I've had. I love it and it is worth the price.

We love our Blendtec but after 1700 uses the bearing failed on our original Wildside jar which I can absolutely accept as a normal failure. Without hesitation I ordered a new jar. The jar itself is just like the original and suspect it will last just as long. My one star rating is for the lid. Blendtec you should be absolutely embarrassed of the lid you are sending with the new jar. Fortunately for me I kept my old lid and will be using it and throwing out the new lid. I have provided a picture for comparison between the old and new lid. There is absolutely no comparison, the old lid is thick and fits tight the new lid is an absolute joke. It is the quality of a lid I would suspect as a covering for my take out meal. I gave this a one star because I wanted it to be noticed. If you have your old lid and need a replacement don’t hesitate to purchase this as the quality of the jar is on par with what you would expect from Blendtec. The lid on the other hand is worthless and an embarrassment.

It's solidly made. the blades and bearings are smooth. I replaced an old jar I had that came with a used blendtec industrial blender. No telling how old it was before I got it, and I had it for at least 8 years. Used it every week and thought it worked great. Popped the new one in and it's vastly better. steady, quiet, and very powerfully blends our smoothies and iced coffee. Works so much better than the old, it's like having a new machine again. If it lasts anywhere near as long as the old..it will be worth the money. They are expensive, but not something you buy frequently at all.

Good product that simply works (my last one lasted 6 years until the blade delaminated from the base giving off a harsh smell in the process). Shipping very fast. Blendtec products ooze quality.

The product is really fantastic brand and nice for everyday use.

I just purchased this replacement jar. The original jar was faulty and had problems that caused the blender to jump all over the counter. This replacement seems to have solved those problems and my blender is working fine again. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will continue to work with no further issues. Make sure you keep your original lid. The replacement lid does not work nearly as well due to its airtight seal that does not allow proper airflow.
