Q: Can you hang these cabinets freely on a wall? Without base cabinets. Just want it above washer and dryer.

Yes. However you would probably want to use some long screws, at least 3 inches, and drill into the wall studs and/or use anchors.

Q: Anyone know how much weight it can hold?

I'm sure it depends on how well it is mounted to the wall, I have it lag bolted to my wall, a block wall. We have plates and pots and pans in itand two crock pots on top of it so that is approximately 50 pounds and it is holding that weight with no issues
