Q: I usually play on Rico 2.5 reeds, would I buy 2.5?

I bought a straight 2 and it’s amazing. What a difference! I was on 2.5s and this is way better.

Q: Does the strength rating match a cane reed? Do I buy my usual strength?

I am no expert, only a beginner, but from memory looking around on the web, the general consensus was 0.5 lower. In anycase I bought several different reeds. And now I have bought another mouthpiece with a larger gap so will end up probably using a different reed again! I am sure a professional player will respond in due course. These reeds are expensive but definitely worth it, I definitely do not want to go back to cane!
