I was hesitant to buy this transfer tape based on the reviews. Yes, the tape is extremely sticky. It looks like almost all the transfer tapes have the same problem. After a quick Google search, I learned that patting the tape 3 times on a microfiber cloth will remove some of the stickiness and peels off like a charm.

I’m really happy with this transfer tape. It has just the right amount of stickiness to pick up vinyl cleanly without making a mess or stretching anything out. The grid lines make it easy to place designs straight, and it releases smoothly when you’re ready to apply. The quality feels consistent from start to finish, and it works well with both small details and larger decals. I’ve used other tapes that either don’t grab enough or grab too much, but this one hits the perfect middle ground. For the price, the value is excellent. You get a generous amount of tape and it performs like the more expensive brands. If you do vinyl projects often, this is a reliable, easy to use option that won’t let you down.

From reading the other reviews, it seems like the level of tackiness in this transfer tape varies wildly. Some people can't get it to release the vinyl, but I can hardly get vinyl to stick to it at all. Lettering does not want to hold on to it, and I am spending all my time picking every. single. letter., which then STILL hardly holds onto the transfer tape, so when I go to pull off the backer and smooth it down, the vinyl creases because it partially released in the meantime. Awful. Awful transfer tape.

I had the best luck with this over cricut or the hobby lobby brands. Those brands wouldn't lift the entire design, however this brand lifts all in one motion.

This was perfect for transferring vinyl to poster board. I was making homecoming signs and this was just sticky enough to stick, but didn't rip any of the poster board off.
