This is my first time using an Acer laptop, but I've had an Acer desktop computer for years, which I've really enjoyed. I've been very happy with the quality, performance, and ease-of-use so far with this laptop. The main reasons I considered purchasing this particular model included the solid state drive, the decent amount of RAM at 16GB, the WiFi-6 capabilities, and the reasonably good amount of storage space. Also, it provides quite a number of ports, so I can attach all the accessories and portables that I want. What I appreciate the most so far is definitely the solid state drive. I've been using those for years, and I just love how fast they are. Booting up the computer takes seconds, and I'm ready to go. Overall, I do like the design of this laptop. The keyboard has a nice feel to it, and my only tiny complaint there is the layout format of the 10-Key pad. I work in Accounting and Bookkeeping, and I'm used to a certain layout, which this pad doesn't really offer. Some of the operation keys aren't where I'm used to having them, but I can still accomplish what I need to do. I don't use this for its gaming, so I can't speak to how well it performs there. However, as just a nice home office laptop that is fairly light weight and performs well, I'm happy with it so far.

Works, is everything I thought it would be. I don't like windows 11 but was able to setup dual boot to Ubuntu, with no tech problems. I find the fan noise not to be bothersome. The speakers are pretty bad, worse than my phone or prior laptops I've had, but it has both a headphone/aux out and bluetooth connectivity so that is a minor problem these days.

This laptop has exceeded my expectations greatly. From the sleek design to the speed and power of the CPU, it is an incredible device. The CPU, combined with the 16GB RAM, makes multitasking effortless. I typically have 40+ tabs open in my browser, and with this laptop, it makes having that, along with multiple other apps such as blender, open at the same time; extremely easy to run without issue. The 512GB SSD fits my needs, it may be small for some people who use 1TB+ of storage, but this is not a bad choice. The battery life is around 5-6 hours while just watching a video, or not really doing anything else demanding like researching. However, it does get down to around 3-4 hours if you're doing a lot like gaming or doing some creative work with a heavy app. I just think that this is an amazing laptop all around!

This is my second Acer and I had high hopes for it. While it runs fine, consistent running is questionable. About six weeks into use it started shutting down and restarting on its own- right in the middle of whatever I was doing. This got progressively worse until the time that it shut down, kept trying to restart and couldn't. It kept messaging that it was "running diagnostics" and would shut down again. After 45 minutes of this I called Acer tech support who took me through a process that ended with it "fixing corrupted files" (don't ask me what I did, I just followed directions - had to get a pin to stick in hole in the back of the unit, do a restart and some administrative functions - no idea- but it was supposed to fix the problem). Until the next day when it turned itself off and on again. On my next call to Acer they recommended a total factory reboot which would wipe clean all files and apps that I loaded on to it. The Windows programs (Word, Excel, PowerPOint) that I PAID FOR - GONE. The antivirus program THAT I PAID FOR- GONE. I told the tech that I paid for these downloads and their problem was going to cost me money. Yeah - that elicited no reaction at all. Apparently making the customer whole when you buy their faulty product isn't something they are interested in doing. I did the factory reset last weekend (during the SWVA snowtorm because there really wasn't anything else TO do) and we'll see if it worked. Two things: 1) thank GOD I kept my old computer as backup, and 2) don't expect quality customer service from Acer if their stuff doesn't work out. Even if this fix does work (and you can bet it'll be a long time before I download anything on this unit - just call it a trust issue at this point), I won't buy their product again. Apparently I purchased one too many. Never again.
