terrific shower filter system!
i've tried many shower filters with hand-held wands, and this is by far the very best system i've ever used. we had been using another filter system for many years, and found it continually clogged, eventually reducing the water flow to a trickle. i was motivated to try this system, and i am absolutely delighted with its performance so far. there's no chlorine smell or feel to the water, and i've found the different options with the shower head to be great. the water flow, after about a month, is terrific, with the understanding that all water filtering systems reduce flow somewhat--if you're looking for a shower blast, you won't get it from a system with a filter. i will say this is the best system i've ever tried, with an easy install that took only minutes. my wife and i are tremendously pleased with it, and recommend it.

Great shower head, no pressure loss noticed, but be careful when installing new filters!
WARNING! When first installing a new filter in this shower filter head take the shower head and point it as close to the drain as you can! When the filter is new, it has little pieces of carbon from the manufacturing process (the product tells you this) which needs to be rinsed out, but if you don't put it near the drain little black pieces of carbon will splash EVERYWHERE. ANYWAY, as a shower: it works great, better than my old, two headed shower that reduced the pressure to a trickle. THIS head has great pressure, and the different types of spray patterns are pretty decent, but I just prefer one standard pattern anyway. As a filter: hard to tell, but the water feels better! I live in an apartment that is pretty old, and the water always tasted off in my opinion. When I showered I would feel like something was left on my skin, and I could definitely feel it in my hair. But I feel much better with this filter, everything rinses off easy, but that might be because the pressure is better. This shower filter installed in no time at all. Ridiculously easy. No leaking parts like other reviewers have given, it holds up nicely. The shower head comes off and on the mount easy after a few times.

This one actually works...
I generally don't write reviews, but if you are looking for a showerhead that will remove chlorine, this one actually works and lasts. I had purchased a Culligan WSH-C125 filter previous to this one. I test the shower water every couple weeks with chlorine test drops. After 2 weeks, the tested water turned deep yellow. The filter was not filtering out any chlorine. I am single and my one a day shower lasts about 7 or 8 minutes, and this filter was rated for 10,000 gallons before it needed replacement. Returned it to Amazon and started some intensive research. The majority of shower filters use KDF technology. This is basically a chemical reaction between 2 heavy metals to neutralize the chlorine. I'm reading where people were having a reaction to the metals on their skin. I wanted a carbon water filter, because I know they work. I have a Kangen SD-501 unit on my kitchen sink and it performs flawlessly. The first thing that you have to find out before you purchase a shower filter, is if your water is being treated with just chlorine or is it being treated with chloramine. You can get this info from your water dept. If it is being treated with chloramine, this and any of the other KDF filters will not work. You have to go to a Vitamin C filter. But if your water, like mine, is being treated with chlorine, this filter will work great. Got this filter 2 months ago, and just checked the water today and no chlorine. Easy to install if you follow the directions. Used the hand wand last week to give the cats a bath. Worked great. The only thing I would have them do to improve this filter is the addition of a shut-off valve on the wand head. You have turn the water off at the faucet. But, for how the filter performs, I can live with that.

Filter defective…shower head not working right
I would give ZERO STARS if I could. This is my third shower head of this brand so I know how to use them. This one, the water was BROWN when I put the new included filter into the shower head. I let it drain till clear. Then for the next 2 weeks it was still coming out brown every single time we turned on the shower head - not the tub faucet, sink, or any other water source in the entire house. Only through the shower filter. So I changed the filter to another one I had (same brand). It was black as it is supposed to be when flushing the charcoal. I let it flush the specified time and it was clear. The next day, turned it on and still black residue coming out. I thought it would eventually resolve itself, but it is still doing it a week later. Now, after a couple more days, the water is coming out brown again!! I also removed the entire unit and checked the water coming out of the wall without the unit on at all and no brown stuff! It is definitely the filter. As I said, this is the third one of these I’ve purchased so I know it’s not supposed to do this! The other ones never did this so I can only assume that the unit itself is defective. The first filter definitely was! I am not happy about either. The whole unit should be replaced since this shouldn’t be happening. It’s making me question whether the filter is even working?? UPDATE: I got a water tester and tested tap water from the tub spigot verses the water coming through this filter and the water from this filter is DIRTIER than the water straight from the tap!! This is not ok! And of course the return window for this has already passed (I purchased it before our bathroom was remodeled and didn’t install it for 2 months). I want my money back and a replacement unit. Or maybe it’s time to jump ship and try a different brand.

Our daughter is allergic to chlorine and gets terrible eczema over her whole body. We chose this because it was rated the best to eliminate chlorine. We had the water coming from the waterchef tested by the town water commission and there was 0.00 chlorine. We have had it for 2 months and she has no eczema. Great for elimination of chlorine and a really nice shower head as well.
