Make sure you have the right pump.
I have two of the older versions of the aero gardens. I also have a 3-pod aero garden were the pump works fine, but nothing germinated. I replaced the pumps with two outside air pumps in the older aero garden 7s-i ordered two pod kits-neither one germinated. I tried so long with these pumps that time had ran out to return them. At last, I replaced the pumps with two pumps that were placed inside of the aero gardens and ordered another pod kit. I ordered the 9 pod kit and placed 4 tomato pods in one, 2 peppers in the other and 3 in the smaller aero garden. This time the seeds germinated and are growing fine.

I LOVE these pods!🥰.... Only 1 thing tho....
The media could not be loaded. I had grew basil and some dill and parsley together and they grew great but the tomato plant I assume is picking up the majority of the bottom water so the basil isn't growing very well next to it which is fine but I just wanted to note that.....oh but btw I only have a super small aerogarden..only 3 pod

Amazon needs to provide better communication capabilities for defective seed pods.
I want to be able to give this product 5 stars, but I just cannot. First off, I love the ease of this system and with the pods that have grown, so far the taste and the appearance are both just great. But what drops my rating, and now on the 3rd orders, is the loss of so much product that won't grow and I cannot seem to find any way to get some customer help. The first batch, purchased with the original purchase of the entire system had a couple out of six or eight that didn't grow and I was able to enter this information, got a reply and was assured I would receive replacement pods. They never have yet come and we are talking 2-3 months. Then I purchased two more sets of 9 pods, tomatoes, jalapeños and garden lettuces of various types. NONE of the jalapeños will begin even the tiniest thread of rooting. And one or two of the lettuces are following the jalapeños in zero growth. But when I try contacting THIS time, I can no longer find any way to get past a response of "please wait 21 days" and that is the response I received for reporting that white furry mold is all that has shown up in 20 days. I just resent throwing money away. These pods are priced at $2.00+ per pod. I've already realized a loss of $10 and haven't started a number of pods to know what their response will be. I do wish Amazon didn't thwart efforts to communicate problems. I will remain a loyal customer but I'll find myself sticking to "easier to return" items.

Grows fast!
My pods grew so fast and I had to separate them and put into soil. Got them grown in time for summer planting outside.

Kinda disapointing.
I've had awesome luck with leafy stuff like basil, cilantro and some other herbs but these were really just a disappointment.I got maybe 6 tomatoes and four jalapenos after about 2 months of growing these seed pods. Your results may vary - I've seen some reviews with pictures that look great - but my results were so-so at best.I have a 6 pod aerogarden. Not sure if that was my problem, but the plants look great. The tomato plant definitely looks sturdier than the jalapenos but both did well. All six sprouted. They just didn't produce the amount of vegetables that I expected. Honestly I would've given 2 stars if it weren't for the fact that everything sprouted and I actually did get a yield - even though it was tiny... that and the nagging feeling that maybe I'm doing something wrong. My other gripe is the price they charge for this kit. I've done pods from my own seeds and my own medium, with great luck, for a fraction of the price. Like 1/50th of the price. I guess I just kinda expect or hope for better results when I'm buying aerogarden's own branded kits but that just hasn't been the case in my experience.

Delicious
The media could not be loaded. I am beyond excited. I am one that will kill a plant the day after I get it home. Ha The tomatoes are thriving. So delicious as well. The jalapenos not so much. I threw 4 away that never grew. :( I decided to get 2 more tomatoes in it's place. I highly recommend.

Complete junk
Complete waste of money. First of all you have to buy this super expensive indoor grower to even use these. They claim biodegradable but then send you the cheapest piece of plastic that all of Earth has ever created. The dirt was not compacted or dried out or anything it was just thrown randomly in the box so who knows where the seeds may or may not have been. I assume the seats have been put into the pot since they want any seed packets except the dirt was thrown everywhere so it was impossible to tell. I would have had to try to put the dirt back in and hope I managed to pick up the microscopic seeds if they were even there in the first place. Complete and utter junk. Don't bother. Get anything else. Not user friendly and not Earth friendly

All 6 pods were successful
UPDATE: I really wanted to update my review once the tomatoes and jalapeños got going and here we are. Have to say, this is the first time I have been 100% successful with all the pods (speaking in general, not specific to the salsa kit). I am so excited but still need to be patient as one tomato fell off, so I ate it. Even though it was red, it wasn't ready and tasted awful (so tart) so I'm leaving them for a while longer. I covered the unused holes with foil (I refuse to pay $25 plus import fees for the cheap quality caps that should come with EVERY AeroGarden). This is very important to stop algea growth which will ruin your entire crop.Original Review:I'm so happy! All 6 pods are doing well even though 3 pods took a couple extra weeks and I am in my 6th week right now and all are flourishing. All 3 of my tomato plants have flowers and my jalapeño plants are still a bit thin but looks very healthy. If you have only ever grown herbs in an AeroGarden, like myself, you need to be MUCH more patient with the Salsa kit. All 3 of my jalapeño plants took about 3 weeks to start sprouting, the flowers on my tomato plants took almost a month to start growing and there are extra steps you need to take. Once you have flowers, you need to mimic the same action bees do when they pollinate flowers and AeroGarden recommends buying their over-priced Be the Bee Pollinator (which is a nice low price in the US but here in Canada it is triple the price). Don't waste your money, an electric toothbrush does the exact same thing the Pollinator does and if you don't have an electric toothbrush then rest a small fan in front of the garden for an hour or so (this also helps the plants to strengthen their stems). This is very lengthy process and can take over 3 months until you are ready to harvest. Please remember to do a complete water change every 4 weeks and replace with filtered or distilled water (tap water will throw off the acidity levels).

Easy and quick to grow
My tomatoes sprouted after just 5 days, and are growing quite quickly. I can see the jalepeno sprouts after 6 days, just peeking through the soil. Will order again!

A LOT OF MONEY WASTED. One of the most unreliable products out there!!!
I love the idea and when this product works its great. I have had 3 units replaced, one was replaced by the wrong model. So many kits have failed. The last kit, the salsa kit, only 1 jalenpeno sprouted at after 7 weeks it is about 1 inch high and the original two leaves have not opened. So, 1/2 the kit failed. The tomatoes? Well, one sprouted as intended and is doing well. The other two took an additional 3 weeks to sprout and now are about 1/2 the size of the first sprouter.I also bought some golden tomatoes at the same time. Only 2 of the 6 have sprouted. They were planted at the same time as the others and they are only about 2 inches high with 4 leaves. Again a FAIL.I’ve worked with the Aerogardens for a year now. Sometimes they are great but overall, I wasted a lot of money on them. A LOT OF MONEY WASTED. I’m not even going to contact the company.Oh, did I mention that the one time I bought directly through the company, not from Amazon, my card information was compromised? Again, a fail at the company’s end. *SIGH* I’m just done with these guys.
