Department 56 Alpine Village Rhineland Glockenspiel Lit Animated Building, 10", Multicolor

This Glockenspiel is gorgeous! Can’t wait to make it the focal point of my Studio 56 Alpine Village! It’s so well made and lights up but the star is the revolving marionettes in the click tower. We saw a real GlockenspielSo this bring back fond memories. Found a new one for less on Amazon with free shipping. The used ones on eBay were more and had shipping!

This was a nice addition to our little village. It is both illuminated and has motion so the power supply is different than the others. Turning the whole set on and off was only slightly complicated by this but there is a disconnect plug close to the piece that worked nicely as a “switch.”

This is a lovely clock. It is perfect as part of the Alpine Collection. The artwork is really pretty. Since I went to Europe and saw the Bell Tower of the Cathedral of Messina in Sicily, I was looking for a Dept. 56 clock tower piece even though it wasn't the same tower. I loved being there in Sicily and this Alpine Village clock is perfect.

If there's no sounds, you can hear the clock people whirling. I have a Dept 56 Distillery with a water wheel, and it's silent, so I know they can make silent mechanisms. Adorable, though.
