The cable outer diameter is 7 mm; the cable comes with some masonry cable clips and tie straps. Depending on your installation, you would need different cable clips for wood or vinyl siding. If you plan to drill a hole and pass the cable through with the end connector in place, you will need a large enough hole to accommodate the 7/16" hex nut on the end of the cable (probably a 1/2" or 9/16" drill bit). Another option would be to cut the connector off, pass the cable through a 5/16" hole, then crimp on a new connector.
