A: yes, if, other than the brim, it is soft.  If it is a harder hat, it won't fit.

A: I’m sure the 9X12 would fit. These bags r awesome. I have a few different sizes that I purchased and use on a regular basis for specific items like t-shirts, sweatshirts and than bigger items like pillows. I Absolutely love them!
