adidas Performance Men's Barricade V Classic Tennis Shoe

I happen to be an active person. Fencing is my sport. As a fencer, I needed a reliable and durable training shoe. My core requirements were that the shoe be affordable (under $100), able to withstand the stress from pivoting, twisting, turning, bending, shuffling, running back and forth, and dragging of feet on a hard surface (i.e. clay surface tennis courts). Given my previous experience with indoor soccer/court shoes, especially those with a leather exterior, the metal 'cheese grader' fencing strips would tear many shoes apart within a matter of weeks.As a result, I ordered the Adidas Performance Barricade V Tennis Shoe and found the durability to be very impressive. Later on in my fencing career, I learned that a good amount of fencing shoes actually borrowed design aspects from their tennis counterparts. The Barricade V does require a bit of 'break in' and a few days, probably week or so, to get used to. However, it shouldn't be a problem. Great product!

I've come back to these shoes for playing racquetball multiple times. I tend to bust out of tennis shoes while playing racquetball within 6 months of buying them. These shoes with the upper sides reinforcement have held up better than most other shoes I've tried. they're light enough that I don't feel like I'm being held back. Although these are a tennis shoe, they hold a racquetball/volleyball hard wood floor really well. The more recent Barricade line of sneakers seem to be a bit too narrow for my foot, but this Barricade V is a bit wider and so provides a nice medium arch and toe box in the shoe without feeling too roomy.

Have used several Barricade models over the past 15 years and the V classic tends to be a little heavier weight and bulkier than some of the other Barricade's. It also requires a longer break-in period as the lateral stability and the torsional flex is very firm out of the box. After about 12 sets (depending on your skill level) these shoes will feel very comfortable and will play well just as you would expect from this top selling consistent performer. Buying through Amazon is a great experience.

The best tennis shoes on the market, my son had the same and he recommended to buy this model to my husband.He is very happy, they are comfy and fit properly.

I've got a bias for Adidas stuffs but for this pair I like its non pretensions for leather. The use of the breathe-easy synthetic upper is great for me because I train up to four, five hours on a stretch. As always I love the fit. Adidas understands serious sportsmen in that we tend to have big expanded healthy feet. Love it. Shipping was smooth too. At least now I don't have to waste time browsing the malls for a good price. Thanks Amazon for the time and travel; and useless roughing-it-out-with-the-crowd expense, saved!I hope they'll offer up the more expensive models too!

I have severe osteoarthritis and these are my second pair of Adidas Barricade, they gave me the confidence, support and comfort any shoe should bring. First days a little tought but few days later a classic hit.

These shoes looked really nice and fit ok. I never actually wore them to play tennis. The shoes were returned after I tested out the fit. My problem with them was that I thought that the soles were too stiff! I could not walk in them without feeling like my heels were going to pull out of the shoe.

The shoes seem a bit narrow and pinch my feet. I've worn them about a week and they still have not broken in yet. I have the AD360 golf shoes and they fit perfectly. So I'm a bit disappointed with the Barricade V.
