Q: Does boiling the food take out nutrients? I have to boil for 5 mins, & 10-15 mins on low heat just to soften the food up enough for my dogs to eat it.

Boiling or heating raw food removes nutrients. If you rehydrate the food it softens as the moisture goes back into the food. You should try to rehydrate for 15 minutes or longer. We make a three day batch and keep it in the refrigerator. Then just scoop and serve.

I don't know, but the freeze dried was to hard for my dog to eat, he didn't like it, that's why I returned it! Anita~

It made my dog vomit, too, but it's because the food is very rich. I mix other things with it and a lot of water and her stomach has gotten used to it now and she no longer vomits it up. I think this is an exceptionally healthy food for your dog, so I hope you continue it.
