I purchased this book to introduce a unit on map skills with my homeschooled daughter. She finds the book somewhat enjoyable, and the characters a little silly. I am slightly disappointed, after all the hype this book received from Veritas Press, to find that the text is very short, with only the barest introduction to maps and cartography given. I think this book is appropriate reading for a K-1st grader, but I doubt that the topic would hold their interest.I also purchased the accompanying workbook. Together, they make a small chunk of our 2-week geography introduction. All in all, I wish I would have borrowed them from the library instead.

The kids and I really are enjoying this story and the activities they have in the complementing workbook, it has been a great and engaging way to teach geography for my First grader and Kindergartener.

Story is ok, but seems to lack content that ought to be there. I was also disappointed in this product after seeing it at veritas press. My homeschooled kiddos liked the story once, but not so good for repeated readings to accomapny the workbook. All in all, I think there are better early elementary geography units out there.

Is funny and has some info, but really was a intro to a series of books and left my son with more questions than answers!

My children really enjoyed this book. The illustrations are fabulous.I will warn, though, that the accompanying workbook is a must if you want your children to really learn much about geography. The workbook is excellent.

Cute and fun story to learn basic map knowledge. Will be buying the rest of series.
