The bowls of the dinner spoons are larger than your average spoon, but the tea spoons are average size. The shape of both of them is oval, not round.

Is the knife serrated?

Yes it is serrated and good for a thick steak. no need for steak knives.

Is the pattern on the back?

Yes, it is. I've had my set since June 2017 and they still look brand new!
