I saw a friend using one of these to apply sunscreen on her son and I thought it was fabulous. Normally when I apply sunscreen to my kids I've got white goop all over the kids and then I try to wipe and rub it in. The kids aren't having fun. I'm not having fun and it's all very messy. My friend used the larger version of this product and the process seemed so much more clean. I was impressed. So I searched online (not even knowing the name of this initially) and ordered one. I picked the pink cap so it would be an easy to find bright color. I filled the applicator with my sunscreen (which was a little too thick for the applicator) and used it. It didn't work well. The sunscreen was too thick and got stuck in the roller ball. So I added a more watery sunscreen and shook it up and then the sunscreen came out perfectly. I love this thing. My kids prefer I use this to spray on sunscreen and that's saying a lot. I feel like spray on sunscreen is so fast and easy. If I were a kid I would assume I'd want that over this. But my son and daughter say that the spray on sunscreen will hurt their scabs or bug bites or any abrasion they have on their skin. So they actually prefer this. I'm going to buy a bigger one next time. It's great.

Things to Consider The cap can sometimes be a little stiff to remove, especially with greasy hands. Very thick sunscreens may not flow as smoothly and may need a shake or tap. You might still need to rub in around the edges (hairline, neck) to make sure coverage is complete. Best to store it out of direct sun, since heat can affect the sunscreen’s consistency. Love this. So great for kids. It is a little pricey, but worth it. I can apply sunscreen to 4 kids and myself in the time it usually takes to just apply to me.

This item was amazing! Made it so easy to put sunscreen on my kids, and allowed my 5 year old to do it independently! Unfortunately after only 3 months of use the foam part broke off. I was very disappointed.

As a pale girly who burns super easy, this has been a game changer. The spray type of sun screen does not work at protecting my skin, so I have to use the lotions. I love reading and gardening in the summer though and hate having sunscreen on my hands. This has made applying sunscreen soooo much easier, especially when I am alone. It is also the perfect size for traveling with, I kept it in my purse all summer. I use a thicker lotion and it didn't super dispense well with the roller ball, however, I was still able to store the lotion in it, blot it on my body, and then still use the sponge to rub it in.

I got this because I don't like the feeling of sunscreen on my hands, and the description and reviews promised that the applicator would help with that. I guess it does help somewhat - I can do the bulk of application with the applicator, but I still have to even it out/rub it in with my hands. Also, my toddler really enjoys using it, so it made our morning routine a little smoother. I think that this product could be more bearable with some design changes. First, the bottom is flat, but the top is not - that means that when you open the top to put more sunscreen in, you can't put it down, you have to hold it. Second, the section where you write your name is smooth plastic like the rest. I tried writing with Sharpie on it and it came off after a couple of times using sunscreen-covered hands to close the applicator. Make that part more textured or include a sticker we can put over our writing so it doesn't wipe off. Third, the sunscreen gets trapped into crevices inside the applicator and doesn't flow into the rolling ball part anymore, making it so you have to refill the sunscreen when there is still a significant amount left in the applicator. I have been opening the storage area to use the sunscreen with my hands for two months now and I still haven't used up all the sunscreen inside (I have been trying to use it all up so I can clean it out properly). If there were sloped edges inside that guide the sunscreen to the ball portion, that would help with that. Fourth, someone who doesn't use this often (for example, my daughter's grandma) can't remember which part to open for the sponge applicator and which part to open to refill for sunscreen, so multiple times, this has resulted in the top part being opened and the sunscreen spilling out all over our hands and the bottle. Having some labels printed on the bottle would help with that. Overall, this is kind of pricy for a medium-quality product that doesn't improve my life that much.

Bought this for my grand nieces to make putting on sunscreen easier. They loved it so much they fight over it. It is great not just for kids but also for the adults both putting it on kids as well as putting it on themselves. For those without kids it’s still great that you can use what ever sunscreen you want and you done have to get it all over your hands.

Saw this on both Instagram and TikTok, and let me tell you...worth it. So nice to not get sunscreen all over my hands, so much easier to apply to my son effectively and efficiently. Inexpensive, no mess, easy to just pop into my diaper bag and have on hand wherever we end up!

Great applicator for sunscreen without the need to get it all over your hands. There’s a little bit of technique + attention required to use for applying sunscreen, but on the whole an excellent solution!! A+ - highly recommended!!
