Has its faults but it is the best Elect cup on the market.
Good quality. Does a better job of keeping your liquid drink hot but not so hot that it burns the inside of your mouth. I like the temp indicator. Stainless steel interior is a must in any electric mug. Most elect cups sold fail to shut off at a max temp and will keep getting hotter and hotter until it burns out. This cup controls the temp so that does not happen. What I did not like is that the plug is too low on the cup and it becomes a problem in setting the cup into most car cup holders. I fixed this by putting a paper or foam coffee cup into the car holder and cut away a small width slot for the plug to slide down into the bottom of the paper or foam coffee cup. Some holders will also cause the shut off switch to switch on when the switch hits the rim. Also most elect. cups have a tab on the cover allowing you to easily remove the cover or turn it, this cup does not have that but that is not a big deal. The sip hole in the cover could be better but it also is not a big deal. I have used elect. cups for a long time and this cup is the best. Wish they made a 16oz cup though.

Cheaply made
Very thin and loose push on lid. The inside of the mug is thin and narrow so it will not hold very much. Inside metal is also rough to the touch, The red plastic has heat marks and black stuff imbedded into it. Also see through so the inside wires are noticable. The guage is plastic painted to look like metal which gives it a slightly warpped look, but it does work. Handle is made of metal and hard plastic, has good grip but is close to plug in port for the fingers. Flip switch is metal and stiff enough so it will not flip up easily on its own. None slip bottom with heat resistant foam. Feels and looks very cheaply made. Probably would not servive a fall off the counter in tact. The concept is cool but would have liked to see it made with better/ more durable material.

Nice! 120 degrees all night long for this trucker.
I'm a truck driver. It gets old stopping at different convenient stores getting different coffees and then it gets cold before I'm 2 miles down the road. This thing stays at 120 degrees while its plugged in. And I do look at that guage on the side before I sip. 12v plug on the side would need to be higher for some cup holders (luckily my cup holder is not too deep). Not sure why there's an on/off toggle switch --- unplugging the power cord is sufficient.MAIN COMPLAINT -- the so called non-slip base is actually a negative for me. It is soft padding. Cup wobbles and will fall over if you're not careful. Cup holder is strongly advised.(its dirty in the pics because I was just using it :) )

The most robust one I could find...
I have not had any of the problems related by other owners. So far (about 2 months use), it has worked well. I like the temperature gauge and the ability to turn it on and off with the switch. I liked it well enough that I bought one for my mother for Christmas. It better perform well, since no one wants to disappoint their mom. The only recommendation I would have is that it does not get the contents really hot - even with the unit on for 30 minutes, it gets between 130 and 140 degrees. Which is hot enough for me, but I know people who will not be happy with it unless it heats to 170 or higher.

I love the look of this product and it works great ...
I love the look of this product and it works great too. I made myself an extra cord so I can plug it in at the office too. I put the coffee in, jump in the car to drive to work, plug it in at the first stop light, and it keeps the coffee at about 140 degrees for the drive to work. I find this a little too hot for drinking, but others probably find it perfect. At the office I plug it in, but leave it off until it drops down to about 120 degrees (where I like to drink it). Then I turn it on and it keeps it hot (too hot if I leave it on too long). Since I get to the office before 7AM and the espresso bar in the lobby isn't open until 9, this product has really helped out my addiction. :-)

Very Nice Heated Cup
Nice heated mug but has a couple of small draw-backs for me. It is very well built and seems very durable. The draw-backs are: it does not hold enough coffee or beverage (seems to be 8 to 10 ounces); and the temperature gauge is accurate only when the cup is full (when the liquid level is below the gauge it reads the temperature of the inside of the cup, not the liquid). One excellent plus is the switch to turn it off when not in use or when the liquid gets too hot.

Toggle switch interferes with car cup holder
Does not seat properly in cup holder due to placement of the toggle switch.

Fun, but pricey. Be cautious with the 12 volt power plug.
I love these cups, but this is my second one. The first cup finally died due to an internal short in the heater circuit. No smoke or flames, but the 12 volt power plug did get hot enough to melt. This may have been because the power plug sticks out and became a pressure point when the cup was plugged in and the power plug hangs on the edge of my car's cup holder. I'm being more careful to not stress the power plug on my new cup. So far, so good. Love the functioning temperature gauge and toggle switch, even though they really aren't necessary. Great gift for a coffee-drinking geek.

NOT AS ADVERTISED
the mug did not show up as advertised, there was no thermometer on the mug, such a waste of money not worth time.
