Great Lightweight Battery – Perfect for Portable Ham Radio Use!
I purchased the ZapLitho 12V 22Ah LiFePO4 Battery to power my Yaesu FT-891 in a custom radio box setup, and I was impressed with its performance. The battery delivered consistent power and was able to supply enough continuous current (~21A) to support 100W transmit with the 891. It handled the load without issue, even during extended transmit sessions.Ultimately, I decided to return it—not because of any fault with the product, but because I realized I needed a larger capacity battery to support longer weekend operations without recharging. That said, this battery would be a solid choice for lighter or shorter-duration setups, or for operators who don't mind recharging between sessions. If you’re building a compact, portable ham radio station or powering devices like a fish finder, scooter, or solar setup, this battery is well worth considering.🔋 Key Features:12V 22Ah capacity using Grade A LiFePO4 cellsBuilt-in 25A BMS (Battery Management System) for safety and performanceLightweight and compact—great for portable and mobile setupsDeep-cycle capable with long life expectancyPerfect for ham radio, camping, solar, Power Wheels, and more⚠️ Disclaimer: This review is based on my personal experience and provided for informational purposes only. Well constructed and labeled. Operator's manual.
This battery arrived very well packed within a sturdy cardboard box. The battery is held securely in place on either end with molded white insulation and the battery is undamaged. The cardboard box wears the required stickers indicating potentially dangerous lithium batteries inside. I am impressed this far with the battery. The two poles are well marked with recessed red and black potting at each pole. The connection requires two M5 stainless screws, locks, and flats. I will replace those philips-head/hex head screws with socket head stainless hardware. That's just a personal preference of mine. This is a QR code on the battery's side label for downloading a fairly good manual for the battery. The rated fully-charged voltage for this battery is 14.6 volts. I managed to charge it with my dedicated lithium iron phosphate-only 20-ampere charger to 13.7 volts, but that may be due to the charger and not the battery. It is important that ONLY a charger intended for LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) be used and that the charge amperage not exceed five amperes. Less amperage is even better. Thus far, I calculate that I've charged the battery to about 60% potential, which is the recommended STORAGE charge, so it will go into a watertight steel ammunition box with the provided foam insulated end caps and additional insulation until I can figure out how to mount it into my fishing kayak.I am giving a tentative five stars, contingent upon no later surprises with it. Thus far I am impressed. If anything changes, I will revisit this review and amend it. Full five.

Good for ham radio
I do a lot of off grid stuff, including amateur radio emergency services. For this I need long-lasting, reliable batteries and so far, this one has been working like a champ. It's recharged with a standard 110VAC LiFePO4 charger if grid power is available, or a 50W solar panel connected to an MPPC charge controller if needed. Charging time seems fast without much excess heat being generated. The battery itself doesn't weigh much, making it easy to transport. Overall, it seems like a good battery, just like all the other random LiFePO4 batteries I've acquired. It works as expected but doesn't exceed expectations, hence only 4 stars rather than 5.

Outstanding!!!!
I'm amazed, I can't believe how light this battery is. Love the voltage and charge indicator on the battery. Fits perfectly in the battery box of my Kayak. I am using it to power my fishfinder chartplotter. The lightweight is perfect for the Kayak. Class A cells and the build quality are impressive for the Price. I will probably be buying another.
