Review: I play drums (and run sound) for a 6-piece band, covering classic and modern rock. I was using two Peavey 118D powered subwoofers to provide the bottom end, and they did okay for indoor gigs; however, we have some outdoor gigs coming up, and I realized the 300w Peaveys weren't going to cut it. The sound guy at our church demo'd this sub for me, and I was BLOWN AWAY. As a drummer, I like fat, punchy bass, and this SRX828SP delivers. The pressure coming out of the front could resuscitate an unconscious person! Not only can this thing move serious air, the sound is very 'controlled', not boomy (with the settings we use). It's just big, fat punches to the face with each kick. I ordered this speaker used (like new) for $1,700, and paired it with two JBL PRX715 powered speakers. I hooked all three speakers up to the DBX Driverack PA+ and our band's sound has been revolutionized. Just be aware - this sub is huge, and heavy. Definitely a team lift into a truck bed. It'll likely fill a truck bed by itself, leaving little room for other equipment.

**Q: This is listed as a speaker system.  How many speakers are included?**
A: One speaker only. You may consider it a system as they are active. They have a Class D amplifier and a DSP built in.

**Q: Can I use this for my home stereo, in 14’ by 25’ living room**
A: This is designed more for a 140' by 250' living room....
I'm guessing that, if you have 2 grand to spend on a sub, and have to ask this question...  Return the stolen money.

**Q: I am planning to buy a sound system for 1000 people venues or a little more mostly out door. What would you guys recomend me tu buy and quantities?**
A: Buy 4 of these, 2 per side and 2 or 4 subs.  I would say 4 subs.

**Q: What cables (short) are needed connect my phone's audio out to srx835p? should modify anything when providing unbalanced mono input from phone?**
A: First I will say the speakers are killer and destroy they can go so loud perfect for my outside venue.  I run mine off of a mixer board (they are not expensive) so I have a Blootooth reciever into the board going into the speakers.   I have not tried it but on other speakers like this I simply used a 3.5mm output from my phone with a 3.5mm TRS to two 6.35 mm TRS plugs that go into the speakers.  search for example on amazon "UGREEN 3.5mm 1/8" TRS to Dual 6.35mm 1/4" TS Mono Stereo Y-Cable Splitter Cord Compatible for iPhone, iPod, Computer Sound Cards, CD Players, Multimedia Speakers and Home Stereo Systems 15FT"    You could also buy a bluetooth reciever/transmitter and plug the 3.5mm into that so you can walk around with your phone and play tunes that way.  For example something like this again on amazon (there are many) APEKX Clip Bluetooth Audio Adapter for Headphones, Headset, Speaker, Wireless Receiver with MIC for Hands-Free Call and Music
