Excellent syllabus and content. Well presented and balanced. Books have gone through 2-3 editions. Good for students who want to do well in Mandarin academically for non-ethnic Chinese and Chinese Americans / Canadians.What the students appreciate is the tons of web-materials available that have same contents as the text books, plus plenty of quiz, tests and homework available online which are not available from other Mandarin text books that I have come across.Total four text books from beginners to advanced level students. Well proven curriculum text books and curriculum.Although they are used in many high schools starting at Grade 9, I have used the materials to teach business people too.

This book uses an easy to learn method for learning Pinyin. This is the Roman letter form of Chinese.It goes through the pronunciation, basic words, sentence structure and more. Well worth having for learning Mandarin Chinese.
