Brilliant. Portable and the sound is exceptional.

I already have the earlier version of this (the 2nd gen) and didn't think this Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 (3rd gen) could be any better, but it really exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is incredible and the great bass blew me away. There are some things which are not worth scrimping on. Sound quality and superb design give lasting pleasure and you forget the price as soon as you open the (stunning) box. I chose the warm granite colour, you can't go wrong with that, it blends in with any decor and looks really cool. The exquisite design and sound quality make it worth every penny, and you get free updates on the software. Also, B&O customer service is outstanding - the best I've ever known.

Probably the best bluetooth speaker I have ever encountered.

I got this specifically to pair it with a 2nd Gen in stereo mode. I set it up with the app as the primary device and then connected to a windows laptop via Bluetooth (connect to the primary device while the device is already paired to the 2nd Gen) and play music at house parties from Spotify and Tidal desktop sites. You can also plug it in to ensure battery is constantly charged since they do eat up a lot of juice when played at higher volumes. But the sound quality is pristine clarity with a nice low end bass rumble from the 3rd Gen kicking in to cover the 2nd Gen. The aesthetics of the setup is a looker. You may argue why not just get a single stereo speaker from JBL etc. but hey, this is my preference.

It's good! But 'Up to 24 hours play time' is absolute nonsense, do not expect anywhere remotely close to this.

First and foremost the sound is wonderful. Instruments are reproduced with clarity and the whole soundstage feels rich and complete. However the ergonomics of this speaker have left me wondering what the designers were thinking of. There is white light at the top front which confirms that the unit has connected and another multi-coloured light at the USB C charging port at the lower rear that alerts you when the battery charge falls below 40%. There is nothing to indicate that the charge level is anywhere above 40%, you need to check the Bluetooth information on your phone/device. OK, B&O love minimalism. So why 2 lights when one multi coloured light would suffice? Then there are the six control buttons for power, volume, pairing, track skipping and call control. Well, there are no buttons, just six points around the smooth circumference of the speaker where you press (quite firmly ) to perform these functions. There are symbols to indicate where these points are but these recesses and symbols are totally smooth to the touch and cannot be found in the dark or by the visually impaired. I have used blind persons stick on pads to indicate where these these recesses are to be found. In this modern world of inclusion of the disabled I am amazed, indeed shocked, that B&O have not used even the slightest mark or indentation to indicate by touch where these recesses exist. And my stick on pads surely spoil the whole B&O design concept. Wonderful sound, rubbish ergonmics. I also have a Tribit which cost 17% of the price of the B&O. I have included a picture of the Tribit's buttons in contrast to the more expensive B&O.

Very impressed with the sound this little unitanages to produce! It has a very well balanced sound stage. Clear and bright high and mid range, the low end for the size of the unit is very impressive! Precise and clear speaker with a high quality clean and clear soundstage. Exactly what I was looking for

I am very happy with the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 (3rd generation). The sound quality is excellent, with clear highs, rich bass, and impressive detail for such a compact speaker. I bought it at a discounted price, which made it an outstanding value. The package arrived quickly and was well protected. Compared to my Apple HomePod mini, I personally prefer the sound of the Beosound A1. It sounds fuller, more balanced, and more refined, especially when listening to music. The build quality is superb, the design is beautiful, and the speaker feels very premium. Battery life is also excellent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker with amazing sound and premium quality.

I bought this for my husband and he’s been very happy with it. For such a small speaker, the sound is surprisingly clear and detailed. He uses it all the time and he’d love to get a second one to pair them up, but the price is just so steep that we’re holding off for now. The good stuff: - Audio quality: Really impressive for the size. It doesn't sound "tinny" like a lot of small portables. - Build: It feels high-quality, has a nice metallic green finish and looks great in the room. - Portability: It’s easy to move around the house or take with you. The annoying bits: - The power button: It’s quite hard to find. You find yourself fumbling around for it because it blends in too much. It really needs a different colour, a different texture, or even an "auto-on/off" would be great. - Price: It’s definitely a premium price tag. You’re paying for the name and the design as much as the sound. Bottom line: If you value clear sound and great design, it’s a lovely piece of kit, but be prepared to squint at the buttons every time you want to turn it on!
