Does this work with cat8 or cat7?

I’m using mine with a CAT6a. 100 foot run. Wonderful. You need be sure that the interconnect cable is the grounded type (I think that’s what the “a” designation is). Otherwise you can't pass phantom power.

regular network Cat 6 cable is shielded with a min. 12 twists per foot; do you need to use the ethercon cat6 network cable or will regular cat 6 work?

Regular cat cable works, I’ve used both cat 5e and 6 and have not noticed any difference

Can you use standard t568b terminated cable or is there a preffered termination order?

Yes you can use t568b over Long run 25 feet or more I would use the shielded version
