To me, it has a slight citrus scent. It's not greasy like some other products and doesn't weigh my hair down. You can use more than you think. Just try it for the first time on a weekend so you know how mush to use on your own hair. I mix 1-2 pumps worth with a quarter size blob of Alterna's CC Caviar cream and work it through. I dry with a BabyLiss dryer, which really seems to cut down the frizz better than any dryer I've used. I then go over all with a hot brush. I also use the same routine to air dry and my curls come out springy, soft and shiney.
